I really think you need to buy a second Bronco. Yours is just to pretty to let it go to the rock damage. I am guessing that your fiberglass body was not real cheap either. Oh well, maybe I am just a sissy.

No room fer two, but i hear ya!!!! TRUST me I do! Your no sissy you just know what it costs to fix em, most of us really do care and ride the same boat your in, but clearance puts room between you and them mean ole rocks! Gearing lets ya make a direct controlled aproach, so get more a both less damage....but DO NOT FOLLOW Gordi, Mudd...an a few others! If and when I do my 347 it will be tamed down in the cam dept Ill give up cam for cubes(sides nobody runs em at the light no more) to tame the beast!

I can buy a decent trail rig for what I spent on body panels, repair and paint. I am at around $4-5000 in total body expense.

If I do the stak 3 which ratios?
behind a C4, 4.30's in the axles and 36-37 " tire

5.44:1, 3.05:1, and 1:1
4.33:1, 2.43:1, and 1:1
3.75:1, 2.05:1, and 1:1

Or 500$ less Stak 2
5.44:1 and 1:1
4.33:1 and 1:1
3.75:1 and 1:1

depending on how you play
5.44 and 3.05 or 4.33 and 2.43 are the real options. 2.43 is nearly identical to the 2.46 1st in the trans, so I would do the 5.44/3.05 combo.

Yea "they" do too...

http://pitbulltires.com/downloads/PBSPEC2.pdf

well the 35's are stated to be 35.25 the only 35's ive found that were stated 35 or above! thats why I was steering towards 36-37, but a true 35 would save my fenders...maybe add a taller front spring...its sittin nose down....and be a better match for my gears. But still want something more when I go to low gear wise.

Just looked and those are measured on 10" wheels I run 9" be real close to a 36.....Man I like em!

I paid $350 each for my PitBulls, they are 39.5x16.5 with a 17" wheel. I love them by the way!

You are right on track with lower gears you crawl instead of right footing it. That does save a bunch on body damage. But it is inevitable, you will get some damage sooner or later.

Nyles, I know it's $500, but you'll soon be kicking yourself for NOT spending the extra $500 on the 3 speed Stak. My plan is to do a stak when my D20 dies, I do want a 203/205 combo also but the Stak just makes more sense and less fab work.

If you're too redneck to use a spreadsheet, break out the calculator, pencil, and paper and do the math. If you do it for every option you're considering, it will help you choose what ratios.

$500 is worth every penny for the extra gearing options.

I wish I had one 2:1 and then one 3:1. Then I could have the 5:1 option, instead of having (2) 2:1 t-cases for a final 4:1. The 203/205 won't do anything but that though.

Nyles, I have a spreadsheet. Just tell me what gears, tcase, crawler case, and trans combo you might consider and I can list out the gear combinations.

C4, 4.30 in axles look at post 76, for the 3 gear combos I can get in the stak 3 speed.

Thanks buddy, if tire size is in there do one for 35's and 37's
