The roll bar upright behind the drivers seat is where many of us mount them, for daily convenience. Mounting between the seats is obviously the really functional location. When something starts burning, every second literally counts. The difference between between-the-seats and behind-the-driver's- seat is maybe 3 or 4 seconds - an awfully long time when something begins burning.
