... So I TURNED ON THE Boob Tube tonight. I was going to watch Gas Monkey or Fast & Loud.. So I set at my bar & I have a big screen on one wall.65'' It's about 35ft away..& Then I have another small 21 maybe on the back side wall from the bar. & I set at the Bar on the computer. Watching both at the same time. If I catch something interesting I mute one & I May even pause one to watch the other .. all the time talking to you guys on the computer.
... So the show starts & low & behold I know this guy helping Richard tonight. Kenny Laughlin & his son ALEX ...
I went to school with Kenny .. He is a triple B/Ser & quit a wheeler dealer.
Kenny is a little younger than I am. & I've know him all his life.
.. Kenny also now owns Dr. Preformance Diesel Preformance items.
... Wow Cool to see some one you know on TV.

The Comet Vomit was bought just down the road from me. Had the show running in the background and they said where they were at, I looked and recognized some very distinctive power lines in the window, knew what road they were on. Another cut (horrible continuity if you try to follow the roads you know they are on) and I know that corner as well. Some of the B-roll footage, was local but nowhere near where they bought the car at.

Or other times when watching Top Gear (before it was shut down) and remember breaking into a van that someone locked the keys inside at the exact same gas pump that they filmed at (shell on the south side of Baker California).

I'm sure that is no big deal for those that live in southern California, but I still find it neat when I see something that I actually know. Only once did I get to spend some time when they were filming anything. Spent a day on the trail with Ian Johnson when they filmed the trail run of the NVcargoX. Just stand behind the cameraman and you will be out of the way.

Nice Bronco, but that's a lot of orange;D. My son bought a 85 trans am, not as popular as the older ones , but that 5.0 HO with a 5 speed, kick's some but, fast car.;D

My Friends are just like every thing else in my life.
I have several friends that might be a little Shady but .. I've done a few things for them & they got my BACK.
... BACK WHEN I had my parts store.. I took this cat out to my house showed him were the parts were he wanted.. & Told him when you get what you want come back to my store & We'll settle up.
He said ''Your not going to leave me here on your place by myself.'' I looked at him ..Hey DUDE You spent you hard earned cash with me. We both make money on this ..
Just do me a Favor & don't talk about what you see. Come back to me & we'll both make money next time..
............. He turned out to bring me lot of his friends to my store.
.. He was Without a job for a short while.. I had a concrete Job going right on my Back Patio.. Shop Open & House would be easy to get into..
... I found him .. Hey you want to make some easy cash.. for a couple days. Hell yes he says.
... SO I told him I wanted him to set in a chair on the patio or under the shade tree. I don't want those guys getting near my shop ...50 Buck a day. We Shake..
.... Later he told me ... He had to tell them about 5 tomes to get their ass back where they belonged.
.... After that where ever I was he came up & Gave me the Man Hug & a Shake.
... Man that was off track. But we could have seen him on Cops if they were filming here.

Collectors Edition Transam..

Have owned many Firebirds, Bought this collectors edition when I heard the bird was going the way of the Dodo.. Except for the occasional car show, this bird is, and has been pretty much on moth balls..

I have a 1972 f100 4x4 that gas monkey bought but didn't want to restore it so I bought it from a guy that bought it from them. I have all the paper work and title where they signed it all. Kinda cool. Me and my son are restoring it now.

Sorry I got to get off track again..
This also is too good a story to pass. So got this other friend from my Part & Paint store days. I'll Just call him Meskin Joe. Every one of you know this cat .. About 50% of the time he can't hit the ground with his hat. He'LL BE WAISTED..
... So he could really paint some tricks .. So while I had my Paint store .. I saved all the trash miss matched paints .. GREAT FOR STRIPS & CUSTOMS WORK.
So he'd buy a gallon of real color & I'D GIVE HIM A couple of pints of strip paint.
... SO FAST FORWARD this story about 20 years. I see him one morning 5 till 9 am. He's Twisted off & heading to the beer store. on foot.. About 4 blocks from where he lives. So I went & made my delivery & stopped at the beer store to get me a candy Bar & a DP.
... SURE ENOUGH Meskin Joe was still there & Giving them hell inside the store.
When he sees me.. I get the Man Hug & a couple of fist pumps .. & About 40 sentences of broke English I have no idea of what he's said. But He's bouncing off the wall..
... I said Joe you headed back to your house .. YesSir ...YesSIR.. I said I'll give you a ride ... I saw the 2 cops about 5 minutes ago.. .. So He was beside him self that I offered him a ride.. He even said I'll set still so the cops don't look at you man.
.. Not and issue . So When we get back to his house.. Joe says. Hey Man come inside & look at my CASA.. This was about my limit. So what you got talk. I say ..OK..
... HE Get's me through the mase to get into his house. . Wow .. outside it was a trash heep. BUT Inside.. Wow. I'll say he's about 55 now. His kitchen had a SLAB OF MESQUITE FOR THE BAR & ISLAND TOP. UNDER IT .. Hand Laid Rock.. Bathroom Mirror was outlined buy cider post. . His bed room ... All the beds made up clean as it could be. More Hand Laid rock around the head board. WOW I was SHOCKED.
.. SO Now back to THE LIVING ROOM or Din. . This was a very small house. & Did I mention it's lost in Bad little Mexico ville. He told me as we went inside .. Your VAN Will be ok .. It's morning & I got plenty of firepower to keep anyone away. No Problem. I'd have been nerves if I'D not have been so impressed.
... So The living room . Band instrument set up . Drums back corner . 3 or 4 mick standing & a couple of amps & old time speakers. Muriel on the back wall behind the drums. It was a 70's type poster . He's playing the drums . It's one of the big named band from back in the day.
.. He said .. They were on such hard Drug.. He stepped in & played in the middle of the sets. Or the drummer got a long break..
.. I couldn't keep up with his Broken English .. But man what a tour..
.. Oh & around that poster on the back wall ... He'd built a rock wall with the fake stones he'd got from cleaning up around a Taco Bell they built here in our town. & another Pasta Fina .. He'd built a fake water fall .. Painted in blue water rolling down around the poster & the stage was about 12 inches off the floor . & A Hand sanded & PoLISHED WOOD FLOOR. Man was it sweet.
... Then he ask .. Man you play .. We get you to come Jam with us . We play old Beatles up to about 1980 Music.. I hated to say I can't play any longer. But I'm thinking... I'd need a COP ESCORT to get out of here after dark.
............. But that was the best $10,000 house I've ever seen .
