I need to figure out the shock mounts and the stupid disk brake stuff. The shock mount will need to be moved down 1.5" and up the axle slightly to clear everything.

Third member is powder coated. I'm also switching out every bolt and nut I can to stainless.

I geeked out on this pretty hard. Started off as a stainless tunnel cover from Wild Horses. I then needed a way to get behind it, so I put in a stainless hinge and also a L bracket to mount to. It has laser etched (hard to see in this picture) LED FWD, LED REAR, OD Cancel and A/B Mode for the tranny. Then powder coated semi gloss black. This should be able hide my stereo amp and maybe even my transmission controller.

Here is the Charcoal mount I changed and powder coated, I think it should work pretty slick.

I had the speedo rebuilt professionally a while ago, but the bezel got nicked in shipping. I was never very happy with the small visible scratches. I had it powdercoated. It looks pretty sweet! I might end up selling it for a dakota digital. I can't decide.

I got the bumper back from powder coating. I have switched all nuts and bolts out to stainless other then the zinc grade 8 frame bolts. I'm very happy with it!

Well I had some por15 on the frame fail, so I decided to just powder coat it. Also the front and rear axle, why I am at it. Kind of silly over the top, but it's actually very cheap and will look 100x better.

Also the icon inspired grill is coming along and will hopefully done this week.

What is the approx cost to have frame and or axles powder coated?

Also, how did the POR 15 fail? I thought that stuff was indestructible? Will they have to sandblast it off to powder coat now?

The por 15 just didn't stick well on the back of the frame. It was flaking off. Frame for me is 175 and 75 per axle to powder coat. But I have to bay a 4x4 shop to take them apart and put them back together correctly. So I am guessing a couple hours each shop time at $45 an hour.

Here is the grill back and done from the body shop. Rust coated and primered. It's ready for the custom stainless grill insert that will hopefully be done this week.

POR 15 sticks to rusty metal, sandblasted metal or you and your clothes quite well.
Anything else, like clean metal?
Not so good.

But if it does stick, then unless it's exposed to UV it will last.

Yeah I have had good luck with por15 top coat. The frame was sandblasted, but something must of happened. Oh well, it will be an extremely fancy now.

I have been trying to find a dome light I liked. The goal was led and black. I stumbled upon rigids dome light on eBay and I didn't know they made one. Fits and looks great.

Here is a close up. I wish it was a little more flush. But it's fully water proof and super bright.

I got the frame back from powder. Wow does it look good! Plus a few suspension parts and pieces and my stock pitman.

I would suggest anyone do this if you have the money. I got all of this done for $200.

What shade of black did you go with?

Cardinal BK-08. It's 20% gloss. It's what I am using for everything.

The other powder guy in town did both of my buddies giant bumpers for his dodge for $75. Maybe it's because I live in a tiny town?:) But the friend doing the coating is awesome and does it on the side. The don't coat stuff for retail, just for their business.
