I have a WH POLISHED ADAPTER 74-77 ONE POST HORN part#2977 and would like to know what turn signal canceling cam does it use? the stock one or a special one. the PO had a grant on there.

Hey Z. Did you get two roll-pins with the kit?
Or alternately, can you post up a pic of the backside of the unit? Usually they use a pair of roll pins pressed into two small holes near the center hub.

Sorry I have not personally had one of that part number in my hands, so am only going off of characteristics of other, similar parts.

One thing to always be sure if, it turns out, is to get the pins at just the right height and angle.
I'm sure most just go right in and bottom out, but we had an issue with LeCarra (maybe it still is?) where you needed to bend the pins inward slightly because there was just too much engagement and they were catching on the release cam.
Not sure if anyone broke their cams, but at the very least it was a hard click and not smooth acting.

I think the big issue was clicking while just steering, from the pins just contacting the tips of the release cam. Like you would hear some older cars, but not normally our Broncos.
A slight bend in the pins always took care of the issue. When you first try on the adapter then, turn the wheel gently to make sure nothing is contacting anything else when the turn signal switch is in the OFF/Center position.

DirtDonk,

Yes it did come with two roll pins but no instructions. I see two holes close together that I can put the roll pins in, here is a photo also.

Thanks
Z

Got it. I'll check and see if there are any, or if everybody has to wing it.

I see two holes close together that I can put the roll pins in...

I see they also don't want there to be any doubt as to the alignment of the horn contact button! That's a whole lotta' copper!
Kind of hard to mis, even for the American specification, Chinese made turn signal switches.

The holes look far enough inboard that they should catch the cancelling cam just right I would think. But then again this is for a GM based steering column and turn signal switch, and I'm not as familiar with the spacing on those.

sprdv1,

No instructions on the website, google or on here after multiple searches. I will use the roll pins like DirtDonk suggested.

Thanks
Z
