Part of the dynamics at work too, are if you can make longer runners, you can also develop more torque. That's why Ford truck EFI intakes are so tall. The runners are extra long to get that torque up.
Ram effect maybe? I don't know about that, but they don't necessarily make the runners smaller on the trucks, just longer.
Mark, didn't you say you also had a super-duper carb guy there locally? Did you ever run a carb on this engine, or did it go EFI right from the beginning? Looks like it's always been planned as a fuelie, but knew you'd run carbs on other stuff too.
