more electrics, the dakota digital contol box will be relocated down around the door strap bracket, no heat there. Just stuff to do before the makeover.

Great work as expected!!! You did a beautiful job of running the brake lines up under the dash also, are you using them as a parking brake?

Yes, BRONCOJO, the park lok is tied inline, we'll see how it works in a extreme condition, still testing. Thanks for the interest, I'm learning as I go.

Dirt Donk, Stephen, this goo is for you!

I started with a 96 bronco 5.8. I had 2 other blocks, a 70, and a 73 I think. I sonic checked all of the critical areas, and the late model was definitely the stoutest everywhere of importance---deck, main journals, cylinder walls, etc. The roller block also has taller lifter bores which is a good thing. The motors a wild horse not a pinto---ok. DD don't laugh please. CI, 408, stroked crank, h-beam rods 6.2 lg, chevy pin, arp rod bolts, 1 piece rear seal, cp pistons (bullet series) awesome piston for the money, and a great ring package. dart pro 1 cnc heads, small intake runner. ferera valves, isky tool room springs, mass flo efi, custom mechanical roller cam---.249 and .249 at .050 ,628 lift stait up, 112 lobe separation,Internally balanced, T&D rockers--1.7 in, 1.6 ex. External stock car products 1 stage oil pump. I saved 3" of taller ride height by eliminating the front lower buldge on the oil pan, caused by the oil pump being up front. If there are any questions about that I will expain it better later. The block was trued per machining, and the lifter bores were enlarged to accomadate .904 chrysler big wheel lifters. I'll explain more when asked about it. Super victor intake manifold, cometic head gaskets. 11-1 compression. the cylinder heads will allow premium gas with timing taken out of the motor. But i use the good smelling stuff. Remember I'ts not a daily driver. The oil pan was fabbed out of 3 pans, the main girdle and windage tray, custom built. That's why i have brain damage. UGH. But it all works good. Did dyno the motor---what a fiasco, Idled great but wouldn't get out of it's own way, kinda figured out something was way off with the fuel #s and such... Anyways the thing still made 525 hp and 500 flbs, never turned it more than 5500.. it wouldn't run. My motor guy says 685 and 570 ft lbs. I'm definitely gonna need help with this efi system... Trannys a full roller 6 gear planetary, hardened input shaft and some other stuff i can't remember. Finally pics.

What got screwed up? Distributor compatibility? Pulley alignment? Built the engine too big to get out the door? :-[ ;D

Sweet build. Not often we get to see a windage tray and stud girdle actually being fabricated. Lots of work in that pan too.
What made you decide to go with a dry sump system? Expected rpm/hp rating? Or did all the other mods kind of dictate that type of system?
Or was it because it's just better?

Keep the pics and details coming. Really no such thing as image-overload with this stuff!

DD, Your questions and answers are killer, you force me to type and edit--ugh. the stud girdle connects somewhat with your question about the dry sump deal. All of the girdles sold had the kickout for the oil pump, I did not want that, since I chose to go external pump, because of the bump clearence issue with the big buldge in the front of the pan, I made this one with the help of a waterjet and conventional machining. I made the front of the pan hug the windage tray as to have the most room for axle bump. The truck would have sat at least another 3.5 to 4 " higher with my configuration---no bueno. Moving the axle foward caused this issue. This is a wet sump-pan deal, the pump pulls from the pickup in the bottom of the pan. There is no dry sump resoiver. System holds 9 quarts, but probaly a quart are line and cooler volume, so 8.
So I ended up with this setup solely for the ride heght and axle clearence only. It oils and that's a good thing

Crawling is there anything that you don't do to perfection? This is one killer build up, I really dig when someone puts this much detail into every facet of the build.

Amazing all the custom handbuilt items on here so far.

Definitely keep the pictures rolling. Joe
