Have yet to spot the elusive character from beautiful West Michigan🧐…..
Aw, Mary, I sincerely wish we had crossed paths. Steve (Yeller) pointed out your dandy survivor Bronco, and I went sluething. Approached a young lady in the vicinity and asked if she was you, but she was her, not you. Said she was your size, but so were a bunch of the ladies. I asked a few if they were you, and one said "I wish" and another said something about me 'stalking'. My loss, (not meeting you) I'm sure. As has been often said, next year!

It was sure good to talk with you Howard.
I hope you, your bride, and your Bronco can make it next year.
Back atcha, Rodgers! I was really struck by the strong connections between so many Bronc-aholics, and the long shared histories.

....and speaking of long histories, I met a fella from 'Bama named Rick Parks. He had a few miles on him, but nothin' compared to his Bronco. He bought it new, owned it ever since, and it had 369,000 miles on it! He had to be the king of the Bronco drivers! Also met this fine fella! 20240413_091257.jpg Micheal Parks, from Tennessee. He runs a Lighthouse Christian Camp, a ministry for children. He may have had this on his windshield. 20240413_093111.jpg Kudos, Mike! Also happened onto this hombre chillin' with fat stoogie. 20240413_101737.jpg Said his name was Tony, but he may have been in a witness protection program. ..... and speaking of programs, let's get back to it. This one was also high on my list of beauties. 20240413_102303.jpg

as was this one 20240413_092918.jpg and this one. 20240413_150952.jpg

I would be remiss if I did not mention Dennis (Fordfan) 20240413_151042.jpg and his bride. While chewwing the fat with them, I learned they lived in the same town as and knew the family of my brides cousin! 'Rattler' has to be a blast to drive! Cleveland plus toploader! Be still my heart.....

Thanks for running this thread guys and posting all the great pictures and stories. I picked up on the Throwback event too late and wasn’t able to go. Really appreciate all the post and pictures. This is the first Super Cel I have missed after going for a several years in a row. I love my 23 and brought it and my 74 last year, it was an incredible event. Last year I did miss the days of a small event with just the 66-96s . I was quietly thinking how much I missed it to myself. Then my wife mentioned it before I said anything. She loves the event as much as I do. So even we did not go I want to say good job to all organizers, sponsors and guys who went. Safe travels guys and enjoy the rest of the week.

We did a couple of cruises yesterday. First was to the Bush Bean factory visitors center for lunch and then to Cades Cove again.

Hey Howard! Yes sir! It was great to see you and many of the Bronco brotherhood.

I regret the way everything unfolded this year with the 'Throwback' being like a 'kneejerk' reaction to the 'fly in the ointment' of the influx of the 6G crowd. The area can't handle the amount of people .... Roads, restaurants, shoot...even cell service! The Townsend locals have even voiced displeasure with the SuperCelebration and of what it's become! I'm not saying that I don't like the new Bronco or their owners, but the majority of them are a completely different crowd. .....Even Tom said that to me last weekend! If I want to go look at a bunch of 6G's, I just go to the mall parking lots or the dealerships, and I can see plenty!

Anyway...enough ranting.... Maybe it will get figured out!

Yes, Howard! You need to come to Heflin and see the Maloneys!... I'll give you a free Bronco tour also! :)

The throwback weekend was a great event, but also a reminder of what we’ve lost. The charm just isn’t there anymore at the normal Super Celebration.

I couldn’t believe what I saw Monday when I took a look of the field layout. Groups that didn’t exist 5 years ago got all the front rows reserved to themselves and many of the folks who’ve been loyal to the event for a decade or more have been pushed all the way to the back. Dad is getting up in age and isn’t able to walk as much as he used to, so this has basically made it not enjoyable for him anymore.

Yes the 6G crowd had been a big factor in this. But that isn’t my only disappointment. The EB community has changed also. We used to be a community that celebrated each other’s finds, were friends to each other, and just enjoyed one another’s company. Now many are just out for themselves and their little circle and snub their noses at others.

This isn’t just the newbies, I’ve witnessed the change in people I’ve known over a decade. Part of it is that some have gained some notoriety and let it go to their head, the rest I haven’t quite figured out. Jealousy? Arrogance? Not sure. But I hate it.

I’m not sure what the future holds for Pops and I, but moving forward things will definitely not be the same. I used to look forward to this all year long. Not anymore.

Rant off. Continue on.
