Little late for me to be starting the yearly SEMA thread. Today was the first day of the show. I have really heard nothing of what is going on.
This is the first time I was in the country but did not make the show in 2 decades. Between vehicle projects and have other stuff going on at the moment.

All I know Bronco wise is there is an electric Bronco there that will be sold for charity at Barret Jackson in Scottsdale next year. No Ford booth (or GM, Toyota, and a few others). Chrysler still on display down in the basement.

Anyone there with updates?

Aw, heck! I really enjoyed and looked forward to this thread. Hopefully some of our kin will pinch-hit.

Hi gang:

I'm home and will post some pics when I get a chance (maybe tomorrow night?). Short report - I think I counted 7 or 8 EBs there this year and about a bazillion 6G trucks. Much better show this year again after last year's Covid-sized affair. As Broncobowsher noted though, it was weird not having Ford and GM there this year with booths. Their absence was palpable and discussed frequently amongst the chattering class.

There was an aftermarket cowl/inner fender assembly there from a start up that I will post and discuss later No other new specific EB parts that I noted.

It was nice to chat with 904Bronco, meet Matt Chapman (forget his username on here), and some other Bronco peeps and other random folks that you end up running into at SEMA. About 10 hours and 30,000 steps was all this introvert could handle this year!

I'll have several posts with photos here. In this batch is a ratty '66 Bronco in the Bestop booth. After posting the pics on FB, I learned this is the '66 Bronco that Fred Williams and Dirthead Dave had on their Dirt Every Day Show. I don't watch much TV so I didn't recognize it. The truck in the sandbox is the 1975 Baja Bronco owned for many years by the late Jim Petersen of Farmington, NM. This Bronco was a favorite of many in the late '80s/early '90s when it appeared on the cover of Off Road Magazine and then later in multiple issues of 4 Wheel Drive and Sport Utility Magazine and Petersen's 4 Wheel & Off Road magazine. It was rediscovered by Felipe Ibarra of Lucky Motorsports in TX a few years ago and Felipe did a great job with the restoration. One of the more clever booth setups too, imo. The remaining two pics are of a new Bronco product that I'll explain in a later post.

The new inner fenders and cowl are from a small startup called ACME HPL, based in North Carolina (Statesville, I believe). Some assembly required - everything needs to be spot-welded together. The cowl pieces are 0.090" thick and the fenders are 16 gauge. The cowl has a slightly different shape than stock to accommodate Coyote swaps and other larger form engines. A conventional booster/master cylinder (in this case a Corvette unit) will have clearance to bolt up straight to the firewall. The yellow Bronco is a '73 (with 302 badges on it) that was outside in a stereo mfr. booth. The silver truck was outside in the lobby of the new West Hall. One pic of the back of Hellabad's 'Scrappy' half cab.

Here are shots of a nice green one outside the south hall, JB Fabrication's familiar turbo-charged monster, a green one in the Precision moldings booth, a red one that I thought was a Maxlider build but might be a Velocity build instead, and a Gateway Bronco with a blown Coyote engine in the Eaton booth.

And last bit not least, another shot of the red one and finally, an assembled Blueprint engine with their new 5.0 block. I first reported on their new blocks here after last year's show and they're finally starting to roll out now. Two more shots of Hellabad's Scrappy half cab and the 4 door Maxlider rig that has been at the show before.

Your faithful reporter,
Todd Z.

I remember that '75 Baja from back in the day, reading it in the magazines.
Even more impressive is I know the importer for Max Trax from other activities. Now I wish I went just for that one booth.

Next year I am planning a little harder.

Matt Scott?

Did you make it this year?
