Juust one example of "money I didnt know I needed to spend". One of these dont work with the others. Nothing $110 and 3 days to ship it to me wont fix.

I litterally have 10 other "instances" just like this one! Lol!!

I got the engine sitting back in testing the clearances so far it looks like everything is gonna work out. The super tall valve covers and the pulley by the crossmember were my two biggest concerns.

Putting it back together is taking longer than tearing it apart! Here is hoping my attention to detail and refusing to stop during the week pays off over this comming weekend.

I didnt get "pay off" I did however get some work accomplished. I feel like my "Amazing Ability" is to make things take 3 times longer than they need to. But one thing is for sure learning from the past, I am trying to do things right the first time on this portion of the project. The tear down was definitely the easy part. The hard part is what's going back in is upgraded "dreams of what I want a Bronco to be". Stuff that to me is new technology so I have to learn as I go. I realized this weekend that takes time. Although a Sniper EFI 351W with an Explorer serp system swapped project is by far NOT the latest and greatest conversion available. I'm learning it all as I go. I get so far and think of a potential problem down the road, go into the house research for the answer (proud of myself for thinking ahead) get back out to work and just like a separate problem like a powersteering pump pulley dont fit! I have had other instances of the same type with the fuel system also. But like I said I'm learning as I go and after all this is said and done I have learned what to do next time. When I'll be rebuilding the engine that came out of this Bronco and putit in my Yellow 66 Bronco.

So last weeks successes will be summed up in the pics. Headers, Clutch and fabed equilizer bracket, transmission/transfer case, starter, drive shaft and exhaust all back in. New fuel lines are also Installed. Just waiting on the fuel filter and I can get the 23gal tank installed.

So much work has gone into this Bronco in the last month. I am not even kidding I wake up in the morning work my 10 hours 4 days a week come home take 15 minutes for supper and I am in the garage by 4:45 each night till about 8 pm. Then all day Friday and Saturday and Sunday after church. I am not complaining but Wow this is a lot of work. Reading threads and seeing pics of people building Broncos makes it look alot quicker than what it actually is.

So in the last few weeks....... Its been Sniper Fuel injection and 4G alternator upgrade. The electric hooking up the alternator took me a minute to get comfortable with I really had no way of testing it before hooking up the sniper so that was nerve racking. I had to buy a new Serp. belt because we switched from the stock powersteering pump to the Saginaw pump with the wild horses bracket. I took the stock intake off and put on an aluminum intake, removed the valve cover and found TDC the right way. I got the new hyperspark distributor dropped in and bolted on the throttle body. Finally got the right fuel filter so I also got the fuel tank put back in. The radiator and fan are in and it is all comming along nicely. Hoping for some big things to happen this weekend!

proof of progress is in the pictures!

Thanks Randy! I actually am proud that I have gotten it this far in a short amount of time. It is a bit tiring. But I do believe I am going to love it when it gets done.

Got the call on friday that the top is ready. I bought a top with all the chrome trim from ebay about 5 or 6 weeks ago. Got to pick it up and the window trim was removed. Well the trim came home with me but only after I asked for it. The top was in really poor shape and I knew I didnt have time to fix it so I took it to where I got the Bronco painted. Drip rail trim was in ok shape but we wrecked it getting it off. So since the trim is really why I wanted the top. I ordered new drip rail trim and left it to the shop to fix the top and paint it. ....

Well the shop painted it. After getting it home and looking underneath I am going to have to fix it later and then take it back to have him repaint it. Got to pick it up and we spent some time putting the rear window in and the drip rail trim on. I got to there to pick it up at 10:30 am and it took till 11pm to get it home, re-drill the top bolts and get it put on the Bronco. Long day for sure but love the look and since the Bronco wont see any rain unless it rains while we are on the road. The top will do as is for now. 20230407_111055.jpg 20230407_111043.jpg 20230407_122852.jpg 20230407_122852.jpg 20230407_122852.jpg 20230407_111043.jpg 20230407_111055.jpg

Its alive! Barely but it is alive and the engine is running strong!! To be honest I am having trouble with the tuning. I knew I would so I thought "idiot proofing" it by buying the Sniper and hydro spark set up would make it go easier.... Not for this Idiot!. As I am working through it I just keep in mind I dont do this for a living and to give myself some leway for learning as I go.
I'll attach a start up video back at a happy moment. Things have stalled out since but I am working through it as best as I can.

8 Days to super Cell!

Noted. Thanks, figuring all this out for a Bronco specific set up it is tough cause there is only a handfull of Bronco guys in my area and to my knowledge nobody is running a Sniper. So I'm out here learning this as I go.
Today I'm rounding up some questions and tomorrow I'll probably be making a call to the Holley tech line. Probably have to repete that process a few times this week. Told my wife today that if it's not running and driving by Monday it most likely wont be driven to Super Cel. Alot of work has gone on in the past month to give up though so I am going to keep pushing on.

Well, It is decision time. I spent the last week trying to get the Sniper dialed in and buttoning up all the small items that need to be addressed. Almost everything on the Bronco I have 100% confidence that it is worthy of a Roadtrip. The sniper is my only doubt..... I am about 80% confident we wont have any issues with it but there is always that 20% that makes me hesitate. I have over a hundred miles on it and it runs really good with the exception of it runs about 50 rpm higher than where ever I set the idle and the IAC seems to fluctuate wherever it wants to. But other than that the Bronco seems to run and drive fine. I am pretty sure that tomorrow we will be headed to Townsend in it. I worked pretty hard o. It to let a few nerves get in the way of us getting it there. Wish us luck and say a prayer!
Townsend or Broke. Hopefully not both!
