Rust in Cowl Panel, how bad is it?

How big of a deal is this?

I assume it will affect the mounting of Toms plate style 6 point cage, but maybe not, I could probably pull the fender and throw some plate in behind it.

Looks pretty rough! I would pull the fender and see how bad it is, maybe a patch is all you need to get it going. Good luck!

What does it look like closer to the floor? Chances are, you need to replace or at minimum patch that kick panel. Rust may (is probably) also be creeping into that a pillar and the inner/outer rocker. Very common. The rust from the inside out.

X2 on rusting inside out, that’s been my experience. You’ve got to take the fenders off and look underneath.
