Converting over to front disk brakes on my 71and had to cut the brake lines off the H-block due to rust. Just wondering if the stock brake lines will fit on the proportioning valve or should I fab new lines?

Thanks for always coming through guys.

I think the disk brakes take a different proportioning valve, I know I switched mine out when I went from drums to all wheel disk. Paul (Dirt Donk) would be a good source of info here. I think there's a reason all the conversions in the catalogs list a new prop valve.

Thanks for replying. The kit I bought came with a new proportional valve. But wasn't sure if the stock brake lines would fit.

If you have rust issues then new lines might be a good idea. They are probably going to be a bit to short to really reuse anyhow.
Not all systems need a prop valve. I still have the stock H block on my 73 with front discs. works fine. The only reason you need a prop valve is if your rear brakes lock up before the fronts.

X2 on the stainless, I bought a whole kit of stainless lines specifically made for my all wheel disk set up. Another option is to bend your own. Take your prop valve with you & get the right fittings at the auto parts.

New lines definitely aren't a bad idea if you had to cut the old ones off. The stock 3/16" lines will work just fine on the prop valve. But i believe the flare fitting is larger leading out to the back brakes than the fittings coming in from the master cylinder. If you get lines from the vendors, the right size fitting will be in the correct spots.
