Also, you can get a Marti Report on it which tells you everything about it but what the assembly worker had for lunch the day it was built.

You need to check the vin# on the frame to see if it matches the warranty plate in the glovebox.

Ok, so I definitely need to get to the bottom of this

Listed as a 1976

It has power steering, power disk brakes (factory brackets and booster) and it is a factory automatic. It is an explorer package. At least it has the correct color and stripes

I have not fully paid for it yet only gave a deposit.

It is a project...

Here is a couple pics

34 body code is for Parchment rosette buckets and rear seat........... S4 would have been blue buckets and rear, and TB would have been blue vinyl Explorer buckets. So not sure what's going on there.

The VIN is a '73. The bronco looks like a '76 from the explorer stripes and the dash. If the frame has a '76 VIN it's a big problem waiting to happen. If the frame has the '73 VIN you're probably ok.

Working with the owner now. Stand up person. I'll keep everyone posted.

I'm wondering if a dash or glove box got swapped at some point in time and the numbers got mixed up at the DMV.

They are pulling the vin off of the frame

Does the title match the frame or the vin tag? If the title matches the frame, you can get a correct vin tag from Marti, no big deal. If the frame is different than the title I'd walk away.
