Loss of my Bronco Mentor

Lost my Uncle James this week to cancer, He was a great man, and gifted me with my love of Broncos. His love of Broncos started when he was in the Air Force, during the Vietnam war.

He helped me a lot when Chipper was being built, One of a kind build for sure. Sure wish I still had it now. He posted here occasionally under the name instigator, he loved to stir the pot, almost as much as he loved Broncos. I still run across Broncos that he built, repaired, or helped recover, Built a few with him for others,

He had started his Bronco a few years back and now sits silent in his shop. I am trying to talk the family into letting me finish it in his memory, Time will tell if they will allow it. His memory and knowledge carry on within me, and his passing has once again given me the Bronco Bug. Godspeed Uncle James.

What a great influence he was in your life. Lots of wonderful memories made in that shop. Hope you get to finish that Bronco for him. Bet he’d like that more than any other gesture. So sorry for your loss, may all the good memories be of comfort to you.

Sorry to hear about your uncle. My mentor was also my uncle. He was not into Broncos, but I got my love of cars from him. He always had a cool car. Hot rods, 57 Chevy, the first Mustang fastback I ever saw, Corvette, suicide door Lincoln, dune buggy and some others. He saw Bullitt at a drive-in theater sitting in his 68 Charger! He died of mesothelioma a few years ago.

Condolences to you and your family for your loss. A very thoughtful write up, and best of luck getting his Bronco to finish for him.

Thanks to all for the condolences, He loved to read this board, some of the posts got under his skin all kinds of bad. He did have a chance to meet Tito, and always talked good about him. Here he is with his 66 GTO, before he went to Vietnam. He loved that car, He bought one out of Georgia 13 years ago, Right before we started building Chipper, It has not moved in those 13 years. Not sure who is going to get it but would be an awesome project.
