I have a 77 Bronco and has always been a rough one to start, but after a couple pumps and slow release on the gas when starting its good to go. But when she is hot it cranks for a good amount of time, sound like she is about to die but will turn over. Any suggestions?

Accelerator pump may be bad or need adjustment. The lever has holes in it to adjust travel. When cold you should be able to press the pedal once to set the choke and prime the carb, and it should fire right up. When hot you typically press the pedal down about 1/4 way and it will start right up. Don’t pump the pedal if it is hot.
Look down in the carb while working the accelerator to verify the pump is providing a shot of fuel into the carb…
