I was wanting to see some people’s favorite minor custom mods. Not like major suspension or engine stuff. Not off the shelf bronco stuff. The little custom touches that make you happier.
Here are a couple simple ones of mine:
Aux power in the corners of the hard top

Tie downs hooks from ace hardware to the roll bar bolts giving me place to strap down stuff in back.

I'm really interested in the insulation you have on the bottom of the hardtop! Can you share that data?

Yea. That was a low cost minor upgrade. I used 10 mm smartshield foam. On Amazon. One roll did the whole top. Must have in tucson with black top.

Here are a couple of MY FAVORITE MODS that I have done to MY GURL!

- CUSTOM BACK SEAT BUILT in 2001 , used the stock frame on a little riser so I could put a face on the front to mount speakers and lights. (before companies started making the high back with head rest. At the Fabulous Fords Forever held at the time Knotts Berry Farm someone from one of the seat places asked if he could take pictures of it and shortly after started to see them available, not exactly like mine).

- REAR BUMPER (ice chest rack). I do not remember which vender I purchased the bumper from , I'm sure someone will know. I did not like that all the after market bumpers had the ice chest rack so high, so my dad and I worked on different concepts and had one of his friends make it.

- TUNNEL COVER , purchased the blank solid from Wild Horses 4z4 (they also have one with the center already cut out). Mde the Tunnel cover customized to house gauges, toggle switches, interior lights and auxiliary ports to charge devices.

- ROCK LIGHTS, I mounted a total of (10) rock lights under MY GURL (03 in the front, 03 in the rear and 02 on each side in the middle ). I included the lights, fuse panel and a diagram of how I connected the lights.

For those of you that have done Mods and those that are just starting out you know as well as I do , only the people that know the time and effort that it takes can appreciate it. Hope you enjoy these MODS!

A SPECIAL THANKS TO MY DAD FOR HIS HELP WITH THESE!

Mustang convertible seats.

Yes I know that 5 point seatbelt looks weird, well that is because it is. It is actually a 5 point seatbelt on waist inertia reels that snap lock. Or I can manual lock or unlock them. It came off of a Blackhawk helicopter crewchief/door gunner seat. I figure I wore one for 19 years so why not go with a set belt that I am VERY familiar with.

It lets me wear a complete seat belt/harness, but gives me the ability to move around/lean out to spot my self on the trail. I finally got one for the passenger side also. The shoulder harness also inertia snap lock as well. The retractor spool mounts behind the seat.

Also did the glove box door hinge-roll cage tube mod. Rmvd the rocker panels and replace with rock sliders. And put a receiver point in the middle of the rock slider tube. Fenderwell tool boxes, ammo can center console with a Ford Ranger arm rest. Rock lights, custom front and rear bumpers with receiver points. Lexan front w/s. Changed the rear "light bar" thin wall tubing and made it a proper roll cage. Use LED 2100 lumen work lights for headlights. Front floor seat pan complete tread plate overlay.
