Hmmm, this looks like a Jaguar rear end, what's that doing in this thread?

Craig - are you going to bend the shifter to clear the AC unit when it's in 4 Lo?

Todd Z. the drivetrain is going to undergo some pretty substantial changes, leaving the T-Case shifter as a non-issue. Craig

Insulation the firewall, making a paper pattern of the heater box area.

I used insulation material from http://www.lobucrod.com/. The stuff was very easy to work with, and I completed what you see in the photos for about $50. $30ish for the insulation, and $20 for adhesive.

Working on the e-brake assembly, I had to re-weld the tab that attaches the assembly to the dash. The generated heat destroyed what remained of the piece that serves as a bushing, and spring retainer. I made a rough replacement on my drill press.

I should reward my creativity by buying myself a new lathe!

Had to drill out the ignition lock...

Toying with the idea of customizing the dash. Previous owners made swiss cheeze of it. At least I believe I will blank all of the unneeded holes and such...

But you gotta leave the mic mounts.... well, maybe one of them for color anyway (each one went to a different radio - CB, Sheriff/Rescue, and HAM - that's why there were three)... and that "Fasten Seatbelt" sign was pretty well an institution.

Looks like a great project, love the A/C unit. It's going to be a really nice truck when you get done.

I hear you Henry. It's getting a little out of hand, as my projects are prone to do.

Decided to re-work the dash. Might want to put some stereo in it some day, so figured I needed some speaker locations. Wanted it to appear stock, so bought two later model stock grills, and are adding them left and right. Moving glove box over to the left to make room for one, then moving the gauge cluster to the right to make room for the other.

Fitment with butt-weld clamps.

Welded up, and some rough grinding...

Sorry Henry, the "Seat Belts" sign is a goner.

nice...
where did you hear about it ?
I live here in Tucson, just picked up my 72 last week locally.
Whats sad is I know of about 5 other Broncos sort of left for
dead sitting in peoples yards that (are not for sale) but I always
check in with them every few months to see if things have changed.
I like your 66, very cool... and it sort of looks familiar too.

Good lord. I blink twice and years elapse. Now a year later, I finally have the Bronco back in the garage...well, in the driveway at least. I am taking another shot at putting the dash together, after warping the holy hell out of it the first time. Pics to come, just need a good host. Also need to update the thread with pics...lotsa work.
