My WH HD master cylinder was working fine, then installed a re-sealed by me Astro Hydroboost. It seems the shaft between the hydro unit and the MC is not long enough, the master cylinder isn't actuating the brakes. I used the shaft that came with the unit when I pulled it from the pick-n-pull. What length shaft do I need? Or, should I just use the Astro MC? I really just wanta push the easy button on this!

Was it previously manual brakes? If so, then you probably have the deep piston in the master cylinder and did not install the “bullet“ spacer for use with shorter push rods from boosters.
Do you still happen to have that around?

What is this bullet spacer of which you speak? Yes, previously manual brakes.

There's often a little "pill" that fits into the "deep" master cylinder hole to make it a "shallow" hole that is compatible with the Astro pushrod.

You can see it in the picture next to the master cylinder in this link:

Ah. Now it's all coming together. Guess I'll be looking for that spacer and hoping, since I haven't pressed the brakes with the engine running, that the hydroboost isn't blown.

I just can't say enough good things about the folks at WildHorses. Just talked to Carter in sales, who searched til he found me a bullet spacer, and it is on its way.

Way to go, Carter! If you’ve ever seen the junk we’ve built up over the years, finding one of those was a feat!
