A weekend has come and gone - any progress?;D
We met a family from Gurley this weekend with a 75. It's a dark brown Ranger that is very nice.

No real progress. Dad worked this weekend and I had some other obligations. There likely won't be much if any progress through this week either. We will probably start back this coming weekend.

Did you get any contact info on the family from Gurley? Being close to New Hope/Huntsville, I wonder if they know the owner of Dad's old Bronco.

I'm not sure if they were "local" folks. They got their Bronco out of IL and believe it or not it has no rust.

Just wanted to bump this thread up and assure everyone that we haven't given up on it. Dad has been working a lot and I am finishing up college, so we have both been busy. Not much work has been done on it since the last round of pictures. Hopefully next weekend we will be back to working on the '73 and getting the body off soon!

We finally got back to working on it! The body is now loose and ready to come off!

Today we made the braces to support the body when it is removed. We stole fordfan's design. ;D

Tuesday is my birthday, so today we enjoyed some Bronco cake as well!

You are right about the tub. Just needs a little TLC and it'll be a beauty! :D

Today was the big day! The Miracle is in two sections!

We used a chain block and a come-a-long to lift the body off. We attached them to the tractor bucket. It came in handy to have the front end loader for a little extra help too.

We had to make a few adjustments to our rotisserie. One of the mounting bars was off center, so it was cut off and re-welded. After some persuading and hard work, Miracle's body rests in the garage on the rotisserie. After we do a little more dis assembly, we will be carrying the tub to be blasted. While it's at the blasting shop, we plan to work on the frame and running gear. Dad wants to build a fresh 4:11 gear set with front discs, and do a lot of cleaning and painting!

Dad started working on his front end yesterday. He got a 4:10 gear set recently with one of the recent deals, so we plan to use them on the '73. Plan is to use the D44 housing with the 4:09 in it and add the disc brake components. We will use the '73 rear housing with the 4:11 chunk. Of course there will be new seals and bearings, along with good cleaning and painting.

We brought the donor '76 frame up to the garage to start removing the disc parts. We took the cover off the front end of it, and the original 3:54 gear set is like new! Probably rarely ever put in 4WD!

The other day, Dad removed the Sport grille that was added onto the '74 parts rig we picked up recently. It will be stripped and blasted as well.

The fenders had the 302 emblem holes with side lamps, so I knew it was from a '70 or '71. I didn't even pay a whole lot of attention to the headlight rings, so now I guess it was from a '70.

Hopefully tomorrow, I'll strip the doors, grille, and tailgate and have everything ready for blasting. Maybe next week we can carry it to the blasting shop.
