alright the original suspension is TOAST and needs replaced so i have to buy springs, shock, and bushings so i may as well lift it.

I am going efi so i plan on the 1" bodyl lift bushings to help with hood clearance. that has me thinking that a 2" lift would be plenty to clear the tires. i do no rock crawling and very little trail riding. i mostly daily drive it and ride in the swamp during deer season.

so what lift and how much?

Thats more than enough lift to clear with cut fenders. in all actualality 33's will clear with everything stock as long as the fenders are cut.

I have a 3.5 suspension lift on my 68 and there is plenty of room. I just put in a 351W efi with BCB adapter, the passenger side long tube header really heats up the floor board on that side though so I am in the process of installing a 1 inch body lift to help out with that issue. The 351 heads sit about 1.75 inch higher though.

I think you can get away with 2.5" total and 33's. It all depends on the cut, if you're running large flares there's a lot of wheel-well to fill..

Here's 3.5" of suspension only lift and 33x12.5's.. As you can see at full stuff, there's still lots of room.

Hmmm....from what I can tell, I have no body or suspension lift, yet I run 33" tires. Rear is cut, though.

I have 35s with a 3" suspension lift...They are on 15x8s though so that helps tuck them in.

I don't do any massive rock crawling, just trail and street.

I'm betting you have a 2.5 lift. I have a stocker in my basement bought new, with only the rears cut, and the fronts will rub with 31 inch tires.
