It said "Heavy Duty" and why would I not want that?

Getting the box scrubbed up, there is a metal pad/contact near the drivers side defrost duct.
What is its purpose?

Got a picture?
Could it be the anchor point for the defrost cable? Is it sticking out a bit and has a hole in the end?
Is the defrost lever anywhere nearby?

Pretty flat, can't see where anything may have attached in the past.
The inside kind of shows where a small hole may have protruded through.
I'm thinking this is a heater out of the '67 body I installed on my frame.
