I got the Anti Rock Sway-bar installed on the rear of the Bronco and WOW what a difference it makes driving on the street. No more body roll, I can actually go around corners without white knuckling the steering wheel. It’s actually pleasant to drive around town. I still need to test it Offroad, hopefully I’ll get to do that soon.
With over 20” of travel it took some work to get the sway bar setup properly. I had to remove the coilovers to check it at full bump and full droop for proper operation. At full droop it is close to max allowable angle suggested by Currie. The end links are 16” eye to eye. I plan to sleeve them for strength. I think if I had mounted the sway bar under the frame it would have been easier to setup, but it all worked out. I can’t wait to get it on some rocks and see how it performs now.

I decided to update my tube doors with a new better latch system. They are a paddle latch but also have a inside door pull. I had to custom make some striker bolts. I bent some 1/8” flat bar and welded a nut to the backside for the 5/16 fine thread bolt. Then welded it to the door jamb. I have never had stock doors and no plans on ever having stock doors so I’m fine with this method. Besides I would need to replace both door jambs to use stock doors anyway. The new latches are much more secure and don’t seem to rattle much at all. I’m very pleased with them. Then I took the opportunity to repaint the doors Hammered Black. They looks good, but kind of just blend in now compared to the silver.

This is something I should have done years ago. It would have saved my rockers and door sills and even the fenders. Frame mounted Rock sliders.
The BC Rocks ski’s work fine for mild trail abuse but once you drop onto a few big boulders it’s over, the integrity of the body is compromised.
I started by cutting my old beat up rockers an inch or so below the door sill and mocked into place the 2”x6” 3/16” wall rectangular tubing. 52” long. Once squared up I welded 3”x3” 3/16” plates onto the frame and cut some 1 3/4” .120 DOM tube supports. I went with 4 supports on each side. Next I made tube steps to help get into and out of the Bronco. They are made from 1 3/4” .120 DOM and sleeved inside with 1 1/2” .120 tube for extra strength. I still plan to add a couple support tubes in the middle of the steps.
Once I get the new roll cage installed I plan to tie the rock sliders into the cage for ultra rigid and strong setup.

I added some supports to strengthen the tube steps. I used 1x3 rectangle tubing.
