Just thought I would update everyone on a post I created about 6 months ago, looking for people interested in making an on/off road expedition down the Baja Peninsula in Early Broncos. Here's where we are;

- We meet in Yuma, AZ on May 4th to start our journey

- There 13 EB's and a chase truck making the trip

- Much of our journey will travel along Baja 1000 and Mexican 1000 routes

- We will be on dirt about 70% heading South, and about 40% heading North.

- We will cover about 2,500 miles in Baja

- Our first night in Mexico is at the historic HorsePower Ranch, outside of Ensenada

- We will spend nights in Punta San Carlos, Bahia de Los Angeles, San Ignacio, Loreto (multiple nights), La Paz, Guerro Negro and San Felipe.

- We are going to see 7 of the remaining 8 "in tact" 17th century missions still standing in Baja

- We'll slide in some scuba diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, etc.. with some free time on the Sea of Cortez

The itinerary is aggressive, but I think our Herd of Broncos is up for the task. I'm hoping some of the others making the trip will chime in on their thoughts. This should be a blast!!

I've been working hard on prepping my Bronco for the trip... Here's what I've been preparing for the journey...

You’re another that I was hoping could have made it! We’ll see how this goes with 13 of these old trucks caravanning thru the beast that is Baja! I hope my itinerary isn’t too aggressive - I’m sure we will all learn a lot and have a great time along the way!

Glad you started this 6 months ago. Amazing how much there is to do, and how fast time flies.

I've never been South of Ensenada (although I've been to Baja hundreds of times). So stoked to be on this trip.

My rig is in getting a rebuilt 302 and C4 installed. I had put in another rebuilt last year, but it never ran right. Rather than spend time I don't have chasing ghosts, I decided to just bite the bullet and go with a warrantied setup. The next few weeks I'll daily drive it to shake loose the gremlins. Entonces, vamos a la Baja.

I am jealous for sure. I'm almost certain I would be going if it didn't fall in my last 2 weeks of school. Whens the next wrench fest? I'll try and show up to lend a hand.

I love the group we have! Honestly, I had capped it at 10 but accepted 13 thinking at least 3 would cancel! But no way! They have all been 100% on board since day 1 and never blinked when we adjusted dates, changed routes and had to pre pay for rooms! We’ve got a long journey ahead, and things will go wrong. But this is a great representation of early Bronco owners from all over the country. We will definitely be keeping everyone updated along the way.
