4x4x2 steering box leaking around top

Hey y'all,
Finally got around to installing my Hydro boost setup and just got it finished tonight! No leaks from the pump or any of the AN fittings. Testing it out, I have power steering; and it feels like I have power brakes. I go to shut the rig off when I hear a slight hissing/spewing noise. I'm looking around for it, and see fluid coming out of the top of the steering box!

Honestly, I shouldn't be surprised at all. The box was used from FB marketplace and the center section was from the junkyard. Most of the guides for these online show a large O-ring on the "Sector Shaft Cover" which is what seems to be leaking.

Does anybody know where to find that O-ring or should I just change all the seals? Most online kits look like they seal the input or pinion on the bottom, but both of those seem fine.

Thanks!

Check to make sure it’s not just loose. Had the bolts holding the cover in mine come loose once and quickly lost all my fluid. Tightened the bolts up and it’s been leak free since

First thing I checked. First a 1/2 ratchet, then a breaker bar for good measure. Bolts are good and snug

The box "lid"/side cover (2 or 4 bolt kind) has a o-ring style gasket AND the "threaded adjuster stud"/sector shaft adjustment bolt/lash adjuster is a tricky one to seal. Yes I believe there is an o-ring on the shaft and this guy uses a dab of silicone. Read step #23 on the 3rd attachment.

The trick is when you take the cover of to get to it. That takes some special tools to do it properly come time to put it back together.

That was it! I have no idea why I didn't notice it when I first swapped the guts out, but it didn't have a gasket.

Feel pretty stupid for that one!

It happens, I have been searching for a parts diagram to show you and get a part #. Then I realized that the top of the 3rd attachment shows the o-ring.
