430 gears

I have a 200 six with 411 gears now. I am running 33 tires and this seems like the perfect setup for running around town or on the highway. My problem is when i throw my 16 foot jon boat or my 4 wheeler trailer behind it. No problem on the flat, but going up a hill without previous speed lookout......what a dog. I know 456 would be the next stock setup, but don't think I want to go that drastic. Is anyone running 430 gears behind a six. I would love to hear about it.
Thanks Hank

It would probably be cheaper to get a set of 31" tires and just use them when you tow. The added benifit of better brakes with the smaller tires as well. Then when you go back to your daily driving run the 33s that you are happy with.

Change to a 435 four speed trans or a t18. The gear splits are different and you should be able to go up that hill better.
Oh wow, now that I look at it it may not help at all.

OK the trans thing dosen't work so my next option would be to make changes to the engine to try and build more torque. I would try that before I changed both front and rear gears.

I like the tire size change.... But the attitude of the Bronc is better with 33s .
Here in SC we could be constantly towing a 4 wheeler or a boat, so if I change it would have to be permanent. That may be the way to go though.
Thanks

I have 4.56 behind my 200. I only have 31" tires but its a hard drive on the highway. I can pull the crap out of my trailer but I don't go much over 60mph. I think the 4.30's would be good. You might also want to add a weber 32/36 carb. I put one on my 200 along with a duraspark II dizzy and its great. When the secondary kicks in the old truck goes. Good luck.
