Hey guys, let's see your aftermarket or custom swing away tire holders.

I don't plan to use the stock one on my 72 Bronco

I thinking something like this one I made for my 1999 f350, but the angle of the tire will be more vertical. I plan to mount it to the roll cage through the body and not to the sheet metal. I am running 35" tires. I don't want it to move at all or make noise when off-roading.

Are those LED lights from Duff’s too?

No, Amazon. The bolt pattern was for a J**p (even though it says 5 x 5.5 pattern). That's an easy fix though with a cutting tool ;) No issue with the fit behind my 15" wheel.

The main thing that made me get this one is the bigger dots for the individual lights, instead of the small LEDs. The aesthetics is so much better in my opinion. I ended up running another wire from the brake switch to power these.

Sorry for the tangent...back to tire carriers...

No problem on the tangent.

I like the idea for a extra brake light.

The times I carry the trail bike on the back, I mount the spare to the roll bar. A 33" tire will sit on the wheel well and clear the roof.
In this position it doesn't obscure the driver's vision and a back seat can still be used.

I use to carry my high lift jack on my roof rack, but when I went to use it, it was rusty and did not work so well, but I like how easy it is to access on the swing away tire carrier.

On my Bronco, I will probably mount my high lift jack inside to the Rollcage. I'm not sure where yet. I am doing a new cage once I get the body on the new chassis.

Mounted directly behind the driver, the driver can't see it.
It works perfectly, and takes up no floor space.

How is the bike mounted? I have a receiver mounted carrier I use on my pickup but haven't tried it on the EB yet.

I use a pair of vintage motor bike carrier hoops. They mount to the bumper but I reinforced the back of the factory bumper.
They even have brackets on them to mount tail lights.
My camp trailer has a long enough tongue that I can tow it while carrying the bike, and still make tight turns.

I used that type of carrier on to hold my 79 RM80 on the back of my 1971 Datsun Sadan. Now I have a converted wheel chair lift that goes in the trailer hitch. It can hold a full-size dirtbike or a quad. I use it on my F350 now, but when my Bronco is done we will see.

Thanks. Not sure I'd hang my DRZ off of that.

It works well for dirtbike up to 500lbs, but I may make a better wheel chalk for 2 wheeler if I use it much, like for my custom 2000 XR650L with a retro look like this one when it is done. Another project it is street legal with the DOT tires

Did you fab something up to hold the tire or is it an aftermarket mount?
