tranny lockup c4 ?'s

I call it hydrolocked.. but basically what would cause a c4 to be hard to shift from park even on a close to "level" surface. its recently been rebuilt with only 70 to 80 miles and new hurst shifter. Several times it has to be rocked to get it to shift out of park. any ideas. KM

You might have binding or mis-alignment in the shifter or cable. Disconnect the linkage at the trans and try to shift out of park from there. Make sure you block the wheels first. If that doesn't do it then it's an internal problem with the pawl or linkage.
