Shocks on the inside of the Long arms

Is there any reason not to mount the Shocks on the Inside of the Long arms?
The shock would be straight up and down and the Shock tower will have added support from the Coil spring bucket.
Those are 1979 full width axles.

Any negative effects I don't see. I am not known to be the smartest one so shoot 😅

Since you’re contemplating making mounts anyway, any good reasons not to compromise and put the shock mounts right on top of the radius arms?

No, it would be the easiest. I had an idea to make a bracket and mount it under the two bolts....

Something like this... But on top may win
