Well that's full of suckage!
I am dealing with a "minor" case of that myself. Can't do a lot of things I could do recently, without pain. But at least this time I can still do them. The last time I damaged my rotator cuff, it was mucho majoro.
If you've never done it, you don't want to.

Hey everyone - from his thread:

View attachment 914563
That sucks!!! My unsolicited advice for you is do EXACTLY what your surgeon and PT guy says. :)
I was told by so many guys I knew that had some kind of rotator cuff injury and surgery that they went back to work or did some projects before it was 100% healed and tore it up again.

I wanted to go water skiing at the 9month mark and my surgeon ( I called) said not for at least a year. I waited till the next summer and glad I did as I was religious on my PT and I could still feel it pulling due to single ski deep water starts. So.... take it easy as it will feel better after 7-8 months (mine was literally ripped off) and you only want to have surgery on it once. (yeah, PT hurts like hell when the entire shoulder/arm needed reattaching)

Wish ya the best!!

Hoping for a speedy recovery for Sanndmann! I was getting ready to PM him for a kit and read the post. I may try and hit the wrecking yard and was looking for additional info on the tech articles and found this post which was also helpful in case you consider pulling and ordering the parts yourself:

Gotta give credit to swmrdrn for the info and redwards69 for the ARP bolt list

Yesterday I completed installing the explorer serpentine belt front dress on my '67 with the original 289. Thank you to everyone here for the great technical write-ups especially the tech archive (http://classicbroncos.com/tech/explorer-5-0-serpentine-accessory-drive-belt-conversion). One thing that I never found was a complete list of parts, costs, and sources. I thought it might help others if I posted my parts list.

The entire thing went in without issue and it really makes a big difference in the underhood noise level. Now I no longer feel like the accessories are waiting to fail.

If I had one key piece of advice... if you are buying a "complete" explorer front dress from someone be sure you get pictures and a list of included parts. The "complete" setup that I purchased from a member on here turned out to be far from complete. It was missing the discontinued water pump pulley and power steering reservoir, the upper idler pulley, the tensioner, and the timing chain cover was damaged... but it was "complete"... live and learn.

I also appreciate the "complete list". Thanks for taking the time to write that up.

Can you add your list to the actual tech writeup as comments? I have had people comment on a couple of my writeups and I think it's a great thing to do if you have the time!

Gotta give credit to swmrdrn for the info and redwards69 for the ARP bolt list. I'll try and add it to the comments of the original tech article. Good idea.

Ahh, so it's the EB that has destroyed not one, but coming up on two rotator cuffs... Damn, getting ready for second surgery same arm, first fix lasted 10 years. Year I started working on it, bam, pain.

Ok I added it to the original tech article, and it looks like admin approved it for all to see now. (y)

* Note that parts availability and cost have likely changed since the original posting of 2018.

Are rotator cuff injuries contagious! I just did an MRI and I now have to get it done too. My shop time is limited as well and I have 5 projects all needing attention. This sucks!

Don't know if this info is universal, or false heresy (as opposed to hearsay :) )but I'd heard that the recovery time without surgery was about 1 year. But it's the same amount of recovery time if you do opt for the surgery. Hmm....
And that's almost precisely how long it took for me to get full motion back without surgery and zero pain. Unless I happened to do something stupid that is. In which case it continued to let me know momentarily that I had injured myself previously. Luckily it was limited to just that moment, and once passed things seemed to be back to normal.
Took another six months before even those momentary pangs were gone.
So for me, what was already a no-brainer (no insurance of course), seemed justified and I just let it heat naturally while being careful in my movements.

For now, I'm following the same process. Even though I have insurance now, it's a much smaller issue, pain-wise, than before. But as for being able to do stuff I want/need to do? Just can't do the normal things anymore, that I take for granted.
This is what sucks!

Had right shoulder rebuilt in ‘20. Swore I would go to the grave before I had another shoulder surgery…tripped over log chain in my own shop in ‘22 and tore muscle and tendon off the humerus on the left shoulder. At least the rehab didn’t hurt as bad as the right shoulder and ONLY took 3 months to recover. I don’t think I’ll make another rash statement about shoulder surgery. lol

ol'Blue, dude, thanks for doing that. That sort of list is exactly the thing needed for these sorts of things. I can't list the number of times I have tried to duplicate someones suggestions and found that the finding of the necessary parts is a major pain. You should be added as a co-author on our tech article!

Glad to help but all I did was found the great posts from swmrdrn for the parts list and redwards69 for the ARP bolt list and copy it over. Thanks to both of them!

Oh and on the shoulder stuff, I swear I'm headed for issues. Every time I climb under that thing, I come out all twisted up and sore.
