There are wireless camera/monitor systems available that use a display in the rear view mirror. One way to avoid additional wires in the windshield frame.

I was able to pull the proprietary mirror cable first, then 5 ea 18 awg (4 wiper and 1 wiper heater) and 1 ea 20 awg (dome light) wires, and a twisted pair of wires/connector for the temp probe through the left windshield frame without difficulty. The mirror cable was pushed from the bottom to the top hole and grasped with needle nose plier and pulled through the final corner. The loose wires were pulled in one go and the twisted pair separately using .030 safety wire. I used wire lube. After that dries, I’ll put heat shrink on both ends to protect from chaffing.
