I wondered why brakes seemed weak on the 1-2 mile drive home from meeting the shipper. Any guesses?

Those look thirsty. The last 2 trucks I've bought showed up with needing all new brakes but were sold as a daily drivers.

When you have too many unknown variables, it sometimes is best to rebuild the entire hydraulic system, new lines, cylinders etc. You could have leaks in numerous places or it could simply be years of neglect which this is a major safety component so it is always better to err to the side of caution.

This one may just remain a mystery...I see a lot of guessing going on.

Maybe he didn't understand what " air brakes " are -- . This kind of stuff always amazes me as brake fluid level is virtually one of the easiest things to check only second to engine oil level.
