I talked with Detroit Vintage Wheel yesterday, and the aluminum wagon wheel is a "rare, hard to find wheel" , he said. I found 4 that are 15 x 8.5 and would love to have one more for the spare. You wouldn't have one, would you , Franko?

yeah i know him now for a few years ... back when polishing wheels was just a hobby and something he did wile watching TV !!

since he is doing now for a living his wheels became pricey !!

Sorry ...yes the alu wagon wheels are rare ... but its also on a CNC or lathe, next to the slots one of the easiest wheels to polish !
I cant see my self spending $ 450 a wheel for them !! Thats just my opinion i could be wrong !!

Who told you i have wheels ?? and NO i dont have any 5x5.5 alu wagon wheels !!

Still waiting for an answer from a friend who might have them new in box ??

see anything you fancy ??

Wow! look at those wheels! Is that near you? I have decided that if I can't find another matching wagon wheel, I am planning on some tire and wheel swapping and put those aluminum wagons on a different Bronco; one that has a stock spare.

The Wagon wheels I have were on a '78 Bronco that I have known from when it was new. The original owner put the wheels on it in '78. I have started the refurbishing of the wheels and they are going to be fairly easy to restore and polish. The wheels have a date by the manufacturer of 1976, and the actual cast date of these wheels were May of 1978! The pic is of the '78 when I first brought it home. Notice how far the tires were sank in the ground. They looked flat at first glance, but they weren't!

Yes, the Detroit Vintage wheel guy is extremely nice to talk to, and after listening to all that he does to the wheels, it is no wonder they are $1700 a set! (And there is NO Competition...you can't get them anywhere else. He told me he has as many orders from overseas as from America!)

US C.S.I. Vectors ( General lees ) not knock offs !!
They are sandbasted and good to go for powder coating, paint or polishing.
As I promised Lane got until next years super celebration first dibs on them.
( last pic of the 8.5 and my 15x10s )

They are coooool! You wouldn't by chance be putting them on a three- wheeler and have an extra, would you! Ha, Ha!

The casting on the back actually says "15 x 8.5". I didn't measure, but that may be an OD measurement.

New Bronco named "Superman"

I don't know exactly why, but the girls named the last purchase "Superman". When they get named, it is a little harder to sell one, so I guess this red '77 Sport will hang around for a while. It is like most old Broncos, it needs a little attention here and there. It is not a show Bronco, just a good "driver".

It had some starting to rust chrome steel wheels that got swapped out and the paint got a deep cleaning (which is not finished), needs the sport trim on the hard top, grill painted argent and the trim reinstalled, bumpers painted, and some work on the interior...and that is just a start.

However, here is some pics with the wheels and the paint a little more shiney!
