I've got some parts I want to clean up and repaint. Intake manifold (had to dip it in phosphoric acid briefly to clean up the gunk, paint and rust. Turned out great! Do I need to do anything specific to the part before I paint it with high temp engine paint?

Do the valve covers need to be tank dipped at the local machine shop?

Give me some advice here. I'm trying to wrap up this small project this weekend.

TIA.

i'd say follow the directions given by the maker of the paint, as for the covers if they are clean and roughed up a bit they should be fine unless the manufacturer of your paint says otherwise

No usually you don't need to dip the parts. Just get the old junk off and you should be fine.
