The grommet for the vacuum line is now inside my vacuum booster. Do I need to fish this out somehow or will it be a non-issue to just leave it and buy another one?

You should fish it out. Unbolt both ends of the booster so you can rotate it so the grommet is resting close to the hole to grab with some tweezers.

I haven't seen the inside of the bronco booster, but here may not be enough room between the front diaphragm plate and booster wall when braking for the grommet to coexist without causing brake issues or damage to the booster.
