Front license plate bracket

I sent the plates on my '70 off to mojo artworks (https://www.mojoartworks.com) for cleanup, am now trying to determine the best way to re-mount.

Previous owner had drilled two holes in bumper to mount bottom of plate... And then put another screw through the center of the plate. %)

Given I have a stock front bumper, the OE style plate mount is always an option. However, I had envisioned a heavier duty option to protect the license plate from being bent - something that fully backs it and prevents it from being bent.

Any ideas are appreciated. Prefer something USA made of course, even if I have to pay a little more for it.

Hi, my Bronco has two holes on the bottom of the grill. They happen to be behind the snow plow bracket. I never put a plate on there and never got hassled about it in New York. Now in North Carolina I only need a rear plate. I think it looks better with out the front plate. Good luck

I would imagine the stock bumper bracket would work fine if you cut a piece of heavier
gauge aluminum or steel the size of your plate and put behind it for support. I guess
you could weld the two together if you used steel...

Made this from scrap steel after I got a ticket for my plate being "partially obstructed" by the jack I'll never use on my bumper. Would be pretty easy to give it a full frame.

All good suggestions, and I appreciate them all.

Murphy seems to follow me around, so "going without something" really isn't a option for me. :)

Hey, I have a 1970, too!

OK, I know that the stock front bumper is pretty much the same for all years.

I have a license plate bracket...just a bent piece of metal with holes in the bottom. Pictures attached.

Something you might consider. Do this and drill some holes in the bottom. But...IMO not much you can do to a bumper that would diminish your value; just buy a new bumper for $100 if it worries you at sale.

Lol my truck is fully diminished. Yours looks nice, much nicer than mine.

That is kind of what I had in mind... Thanks for sharing!
