Door post pics

I finally received my door post for my drivers side and a quick mock up is showing me that something is off. My measurements compared to the holy grail of door opening measurements (the one with the four different years of Broncos and the door opening measurements) are of course different. Now I don't really have any before pictures to go by because the PO had just made something “work” but there wasn't even a proper kick panel. I've replaced the entire floor and have a new firewall tech screwed together but I am thinking that my kick panel is not in the right position, causing my door opening to be a little less than the prescribed 39” (38 1/2”). Does anyone have any pics of how the door post aligns with the the filler piece and windshield frame so I can get a rough approximation on where the post should align? Also if anyone has the measurement from the door opening edge of the kick panel to either the seat riser portion of the floorboard or the striker post I'd love to know if I need to make some adjustments there. Thanks!

Here's what mine looks like on the passenger side. As far as I know, it's never been apart until now. It looks like a mirror-image of the driver's side.

The holes in my new kick panel for the fender support bracket and the 1 & 1/2" hole did not line-up with the inner rocker (the difference is > 3/4"); you cannot rely on the position of those holes for kick panel placement relative to the inner rocker.

From the aft edge of the kick panel to the floor riser behind driver's left heel, I have 16 & 1/8".

Hope this helps,
Scott

Not sure if this helps; fenders have been off once, posts have never been off.

First two Driver
Second two Passenger

hanging doors is toughest part...I ended up tossing my roof on to see how off i was and it turned out my bed wasn't right either. If you have a top put it on then proceed

I think that is why you see so many people using roadster doors, They just threw in the towel! Good luck, I hate hanging doors too.

Tops on. Haven't taken it off as between the bracing in the tub and the top that's all that's holding her together!
