Hello
I am in the process of gathering parts for a new build. I would like to save some floor space and money if possible by using factory column I have. The column is a three speed manual column. Can I replace "guts" with auto column parts available from the numerous vendors in order to use this column with a C6. Thank you in advance for your help.

If you're wanting to save some $ check out the classified section on this forum. Columns pop up here and there usually for a good price.

I picked up an auto column from a 76 a few months ago.

I know the shift collar, shift tube, turn signal switch, shift arm, and I'm sure more need to be replaced. A used take off would be easier.

The auto column is NOT a manual column with some parts changed & added - it's a DIFFERENT column, with a few similar/identical parts. This shows the later columns, but the eB's columns are similar:

Just ignore the 2 on the Right side.

You can convert a manual column to an auto using parts from an F150 auto column but it's not a direct swap of parts. Fabrication is required. I used the parts from a 77 F150 auto column to convert the manual column in my 77 EB. It wasn't super hard but I only did it this way because I already had the F150 column and had the time.
