Seen the premeir used several times at Katemcy on a couple different rigs. Never struck an arc with them myself, but they seemed to do what was needed. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for so the PPW will be what I get.

The premier is an excellent welder. The high frequency really helps out. Since I am cheap I just run a 95 amp externally regulated Ford weldernator. (I run 2 alternators). Never let me down.

I've had a PPW on mine for at least 10 years. It's way more than just a welder. Works great.

My buddy has one on his Toyota p/u (several years now).
He can't weld for shit but, I've made trail repairs on other people's rigs (welded my broken tie rod in the Little Sluice.....right after grenading a Dutchman Motorsports rear axle shaft but, don't get me started on that subject:mad:) on several occasions.
Anyway those things are awsome and Pat Gremillion, the owner, is a super nice guy to deal with if you have any questions or problems.
I've heard that Mobi Weld is another excellent unit and allows you to utilize your original alternator.
I myself can't afford one:-[ so, I'm (eventually%)) building one using a large case 100 amp 1G alternator--------Hans

PS, 6013 seams to work really well and produced strong smooth welds
