Digging though my pile of parts getting things organized for final assembly of one of my resto mod rebuilds. I came across the parts for my 77. Was looking at the glovebox door and decided to check out the vin number. Did a search on here and came up with an archived thread about it. From what I can see this number must be right at the end of production. GLY80013
Can any of the vin number gurus tell me anything about it?

May or June '77 build. My Dad has 83774, I used to have 84873. Both were June builds.

'77s went to Z, so there are later ones.

Pretty close to the end, but not the youngest one.
Thanks for the help.

The plant would always shut down the first two weeks of july for vacation and then when it would start up again there would be a date setup to change to the new model year. Without checking with the few fellow worker that I keep in touch with and i highly doubt they would remember suspect that very few early broncos would have been build because body shop would have to put the tooling in to build the bodys at vacation shut down and what was built was the last ones in the systems. Hey just a little fyi.

Where do you find the serial number on a '77?

On the drivers door jam, lower left corner of the sticker. I know this is a crummy pic, but the number (VIN) on this one U15GLZ00632. The manufactuer date, 7/77, is located in the upper left side of sticker.

Is it A000034? I'd assume so, and would think that is was the 34th one built.

It's actually U15GLO00034. The '77 sequence numbers started with the letter O in Aug '76.

So it is close to being the first 77 EB? 33 EBs in front of it. Or were there other types that used the same sequence the bronco did

Trucks coming off the same line used the same sequence numbers. It could be the first '77 Bronco.

Wow, by 8-9-76 they were up to 1237. OF course, mine was serialized 6-24-76. I wonder how much earlier yours was serialized?
