Does anyone know where these came from.

A description of where you found it, as on the floor or under the hood would help. I've owned 3 EBs since '73 and the '77 I'm currently driving was purchased new and fully restored a couple of years ago. I'd guess it's an after market floor mat but I know I've never seen one like it.

Most Practical low dollar Engine/Transmission swap

Mostly as a result of police cars there are millions of 4.6 engines here and millions more around the world. They won't disappear any time soon. There were a lot of assumptions in the above posts, mostly all wrong. My 351 is essentially new with hundreds of thousands of miles left in it. I...

Most Practical low dollar Engine/Transmission swap

I know the the over head cam makes any engine a lot wider. My question was mainly aimed to find out how much and what workarounds have bin successful to economically overcome the problem. The answer was; there were none. My point was, the P71s are super abundant and thus cheap, including...

Most Practical low dollar Engine/Transmission swap

I've bought and run 6 or 7 Crown Vic P71s over the last 40 some years and found the 4.6/AOD combination to be a cheap to buy and run combo in a 4000lb Crown Vic. It gives excellent mileage, great low end torque, and plenty of power. I don't suffer from the need to make an EB into a dragster. I...

How to remove the ignition switch without a key?

I've always kept old keys (my last name is Keyes). One out of 5 or 6 work with a little giggling. Ford didn't have too many patterns. Any lock smith likely has something similar.

    Oil Pan Help

Agreed, the duel sump Fox/Panther car pan wasn't designed for EBs. So on full front suspension compression the differential will hit the pan. Real Bronco pans can be found by searching Mercruiser 188 here...

    Front Springs

I looked at the TRW spring specs and found the TRW EB coil is only 16.3" free length. So if yours is a similar rating, it would give you a 0.8" lift. I don't know of an after market coil like that and '78/'79 Bronco coils have a 17.5" free length. So it's unlikely for '78/'79s.

    Oil Pan Help

That's neither a Bronco or a Duff pan. It's a Fox and Panther car pan with a 1991 part number. These had the dip stick inserted through the '90s block's skirt, like yours. I would recommend a real EB pan that does have a dip stick mounting hole. They also have a single rear sump, so no drain...

    Suggested carb and intake help

That CFM calculator recommends a 320 CFM carb. It's about the same as the Holley calculator, and less than any 4 bbl. So the Holley recommendation of 390 CFM 4bbl is as close as there is. Ironically NASCAR has restricted carb size to 390 CFM and they still get 800 HP. So is a smaller than...

    Front Springs

You need to know more information. For instance what is the wire diameter and the lbs./inch compression rate?

    Suggested carb and intake help

Holley is correct. Too many gear heads only consider full throttle high RPM, when real drivers only go full throttle occasionally. Part throttle response is far more important. In 4x4 off road use full throttle is almost never used. The parts that work at full throttle hurt part throttle...

    Holley carb issue

It is a 4160. Holley used to have specific kits for specific carburetors. Now it seems they offer a kit for all 4160s. I would call Holley and see what they recommend.

    Stock horn location

My '77 had one low tone horn and have found the mounting holes in the triangular brace between the core support and wheel well. I can't find a factory mounting location for a second or high tone horn. My 2008 Crown Vic PI has both horns mounted in front of the radiator and yes they're very loud...

    Electric choke wiring 2100 carb.

I bought my '77 new and know Slowleak is absolutely correct in every detail. The wire supplying power to the electrically heated thermostatic choke cap is short and direct to the stator post on the alternator. The connection is a push on type. I think it was white with a black stripe.

    Turn Signal Turn-Off Cam

I got my one lump cancelling cams from my original Broncos. One was lost before I knew it's advantages. Now I use a '78 Bronco column. On these the role pin locates a nylon ring that has the cancelling cams integrally molded into it. The whole '78 system fixes all the '77 problems, IE the horn...

77Â’ Bronco factory ignition wiring help

I've been trying to follow this thread and see a few points that I have to clarify. First the stock Duraspark was the most dependable you could use. There's no reason to change individual components for convenience or some weird idea that other systems did things differently so injecting those...

    351W distributor recommendation

Made in Mexico shouldn't be a problem. A lot of Fords were mostly or totally made in Mexico.

    351W distributor recommendation

If you buy an ignition module get a Motorcraft US made version, not a Chicom knock off. I've run mine since 1981 with no problem. It's far more reliable than knock offs.

    351W distributor recommendation

The difference between 302 and 351 distributors is the size of the oil pump drive. So the lower distributor shaft is part defining what engine it works on. The rest of the distributor is the same. Also the electronic distributor was the same from '75-'77. Only the '76/'77 were what Ford later...

Need help Identifying Holly and Choke cover

As I pointed out, the carburetor is a 2300. The List#7508 and 7509 were the first of the 2300 economy models. These are also emissions carbs with reverse idle mixture adjusting screws. A rebuilding kit will walk you through all the adjustments and that carb definitely needs a cleaning and...
