Thread size and bolt length for lower front coil cup.

Can someone remind me of the thread size and length of the bolt that secures the lower coil cup to the front axle. I am doing some front end work this weekend and would like to replace the existing bolts if possible.

Guess It Is Time for New Tires!

BRGs are tough but I guess a 1/2 inch bolt is too much. The wife did an errand. Came back and when we tried to leave again an hour later, the passenger rear was totally flat. Jacked it up and looked for the problem and saw this! She said she felt a thump, but that was several miles away. So the...

    Annual Fawl Krawl

We did our annual Fawl Krawl this weekend. The aspens were like a decade ago, which I was beginning to think were a thing of the past. 100 miles west on I-40, then low-range crawling all day on the continental divide trail to our favorite aspen grove at 9500 feet. Then crawl back to the road and...

    Unusual Instrument Panel Trim Option

I have been meaning to ask about this for years. In one of the schematics this little piece of trim is shown but I do not recall ever seeing this on any Bronco. Anybody else?

    EV Bronco in the FUture?

Sorry, but I have not been paying attention for a couple of years now. Is there now or was there ever an EV Bronco in the future?

    Coil Spring Bucket Bolt Specs

Off hand, does anyone know the bolt thread and specs for the two bolts holding the lower coil spring bucket to the axle? I am about to do some work on the front end and thought I might replace those while it is disassembled.

    LED-Incandescent Comparo

Changed out the incandescent bulbs of some of my vehicles to LEDs over the holidays. I thought that I would do a before and after comparison for those sitting on the fence. The new JW Speaker LED headlights were so bright that the image of that one is completely saturated, since I was doing all...

    Interesting Automotive-related Holiday Decoraion

The question is, I wonder how much this would cost if you did it in Bronco wheel covers?! Anybody want to lay out an estimate? I presume you would need dog dish caps near the top, but the rest could be the volcano wheel cover style.

    New Aux Tank Failure

Well, this is a new one. We were on our annual fall crawl and I kept hearing odd knocking sounds underneath that worried me no end on a very bumpy and rocky trail in the back of nowhere. But we returned without mishap and then I smelled fuel smells. Apparently the entire boss that the aux...

Issue Resolved I noticed that my "guru" status has suddenly reverted to "contributer"

It use to be that folks that posted over 1000 posts became gurus. Also the account settings are limited in scope. What happened to that and when did it change?

    Clutch Pedal and Linkage Discussion

Here are a couple of things that I have not seen discussed on here before, the clutch linkage, specifically differences if any. Over the past several decades one thing that has always irritated me is how “soft” it is despite using OEM return springs. It hardly takes any pressure to operate...

Anybody else heard this comment yet?

I am waiting in the Action Bronco (76, blue, cover of Laughlin book) outside the local small post office in the tourist heavy Old Town area while the wife ran inside to drop off some mail. Alll the usual thumbs up and stares from passersby. But one couple of tourists were walking by and I heard...

    Auxillary Gas Tank Straps

Can someone remind me: The front end of the auxillary gas tank straps are held in place by a bracket with 4 bolts, correct? It has been so long since I last did this I have lost that brain cell.

Bronco easter egg in new book

My book is out and while it has nothing to do with Broncos, I did manage to insert a little Bronco easter egg of a sort in it at one point and I thought that my Bronco brothers should be in on the secret. Copy of the relevant pages attached. The real Bronco story is that my specialty is field...

Just in Time for the Hoiidays...Bronco Cookies

I encountered this on another off topic forum and thought it was just what we all need for the up-coming holidays....a Bronco cookie cutter. Nice details, too.

    Shipping DElays

Anyone else been waiting on parts that are either back ordered or unshipped lately? I am wondering if the supply chain thing is starting to catch up with us. I ordered a new aux tank a couple of months ago, and it is still not shipped form the manufacturer to the vendor yet.

    Then and Now

I thought this was interesting. On the right is a picture of Lone Rock in Lake Powel as of 2021 that appeared in an article about the drought here in the Southwest. I thought I recalled that scene, and sure enough I have a picture of me and the Chariot from 1983 on the beach looking across at...

The Chariot is 50 Years Old this Month

This month the Chariot is 50 years old. Built in January 1971. We have been hanging out together for 44 years. What should I get it for its birthday? After the off-the-frame restoration there is not much left that it needs, but there must be something. Here's the post I did 10 years ago on the...

    Annual Solo 4WL Fall Crawl

We are just back from our annual fall crawl on our favorite volcano in western New Mexico most of which is at 9000 feet or above. We go into four wheel low at the start of the trail and crawl to our favorite picnic spot in the aspens. This year the trees were much better than last year, although...
