We are using the Aero aftermarket Explorer tank. So the Explorer pump drops right in. Surfer-b's Metermatch Interface Module looks like exactly what we need. It says it adjusts between 0-300 ohms with settings in between for odd shaped tanks. I just need to make sure it can reverse high and low...
For those of you running Explorer in tank fuel pumps I need some help. What is the ohm range at full vs empty on the stock Explorer sending unit? I believe stock EB sending units and gauges are roughly 10-70 ohms. 10 being full and 70 empty. Best I can tell my Explorer sending unit is about 20...
Exhaust is shorty headers with 2" dual. Manifold and throttle body are stock Explorer. I'll have to check cam specs. The torque converter is 2500 stall which was recommended by motor builder and trans guy based on rpms at max engine torque. The trans has same amount of clutches just better...
I'll get the cam specs next time I'm at the garage. It does have a 2500 stall converter chosen from rpm at max torque of motor which was agreed on by motor and trans guy. Trans is same amount of clutches just better quality as I understand it. It's running on the original estimated computer tune...
We were just expecting it to accelerate from a stop better than it does. Forget who it was on this sight told my brother his stock explored swap with the same 456 gears and 31" tires almost wants to spin the tires when accelerating to merging into traffic. Was just expecting more low end I guess.
We have the 68 with the new Explorer efi 302 and 4r70w trans on the road. Motor totally rebuilt with aluminum heads. Supposedly low 300 hp. Trans totally rebuilt with upgraded clutches. 456 limited slip rears. 31" tires. Like most vehicles it spins the tires in reverse even when your not really...
Running the 4R70W trans with a Dana 20 T-case and the required adapter. I also have 1" of body lift. Body is on and truck is being driven in 2 HI and I'm a little embarrassed to say it will probably never see 4-wheel. However I do want to have the ability to so it's time to put in the shifter...
Yes, that's what I thought. Not getting any movement on my speedometer. I'll check connection on each end. Both seem to be fully in position but something not engaging.
Thanks
Is anyone running the 4R70W with a stock speedometer cable off the transfer case? Not worrying about the transmission function is there any reason why the stock speedometer shouldn't work like normal with stock cable off t-case?
I'm looking for someone who has installed the WH's one piece window kit. I have the kit and am preparing to install. My 68 doors are just the shells, none of the original window parts. I'm hoping someone can tell me exactly what original window parts I will need to get to complete install. After...
Anyone have pictures of how you connected the throttle body to air filter with the required components in between on your Explorer swap? I'm looking for something a bit fancier than the Explorer hose but still need the air flow sensor and one hose inlet. Thanks

So I was not aware that this hot to the alternator runs through the alt light to feed the 12 volts. Current flows brought light lighting it in start up and until the alt gets up to speed where an internal diode back feeds the light shouting it out at full alternator operation. Thought that was...
