Quick update:

It should come home this weekend. Just a few more things to finish up on the paint work. I'm going to go ahead and say, I don't think its going to make it to Townsend. Just not enough time for assembly. But we are going to try to have as much done by then as we can. If it decides to go from "Nightmare" back to "Miracle", it might just show up.

Couple pics for all you thread watchin' types:

It won't be at Super Cel, but.....

Before anyone says it, I know its idled up way too high. Today was its first day running again since 2012. Still a lot to do, still some wiring to clean and tidy up. Also have an issue with the gauge cluster, but I haven't looked into it much.

Progress is good!

Its a Ford Motorsports B303. Cant hear it lope with it idled high, but idled down it hits a lick.

Specs on the motor are: 308 roller, balanced rotating assembly, Speed Pro pistons, B cam, Clevite bearings, high volume oil pump (Melling I think), Ported and Shaved heads with new valve springs, Ford Racing timing chain, billet serpentine, one wire polished alternator, polished water pump, Edelbrock Endurashine Performer 289 intake.

The carb is borrowed off another one just to crank it. It will have an Endurashine 1406 with electric choke. Went with a Holley Red electric fuel pump.

Hey Jimmy that paint looks wet don't touch it till it drys  motor sound good to!

Thanks! I'm stoked that its finally running.

We may have the cluster issue resolved. Think it was a ground issue. Probably won't get a lot more done between now and SC. Have to get a couple others ready to go.

Quick update, we are planning to wrap this thing up very soon. Got the fenders and grille mounted yesterday. Up next is probably installing flares or doors. It doesn't really like much, it's just finding the time. But, we are both ready to have it "done" and move on to other ones.

Raven Black paint. I likey.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

It isn't Raven, it's actually PPG 9700, which is just straight black. He wanted it as deep black as it gets, so that's what we came up with.

Got the hood on and the doors hung. Driver side was easy, but the passenger side still needs adjusting. The grill is trimmed out but one piece of trim needs replaced after I noticed a tarnished spot today. It's coming to life, and should finally make it to Townsend next year!

Tell your Dad I said "I'll believe it when I see it";)
Progress is good.

I'll tell him ;D

In all reality, it doesn't like much. Only problem is I live an hour away now so my time on it is limited. We've got a lot done lately though. It should be there if all goes well!

Thanks Brian!

I'm glad you and your dad have kept going and it is almost done. The closer it gets to completion, the more fun it is! It is really turning out nice...It makes me wonder what I was thinking to let it go....%) (Wouldn't you like to buy some more for that price?... I know I would!!) No...really...glad y'all have made it into something!

Thank you Dennis! We have never given up on it, and I'm glad. We've been discouraged many times, and had a lot of things get in the way, but we've finally made it to the final push. And it really is enjoyable now. I love how it has turned out as well, which of course is way different than the original plan. :-X

And yes, I'd love to find more at that price!
