Ted, so the bumper wings are going to be storage bins? Nice idea. What kind of lid?

Good eye Gary, I wasn't going to say anything until they were done. The lids are going to be billet aluminum. They'll mount with two tabs on bolts. Kind of hard to explain but it's one of those one of those things I can see perfectly in my head. I thought it would be cool to be able to store the remote or snatch block, there's a lot more room than I thought. Easily enough go a 20' tow strap. I wanted to something strong but different.

Ted, sorry if I blew your surprise! LOL

With all that room they will may make great bins - just need to keep water out or have good drains. Funny thing is I'm making a winch bumper for my trail rig and taking the opposite route - very small and compact to fit the narrowed front end. So I won't have any room at all for storage. The winch sits down between the rails. Hoping to finish it up today. My grinding skills are vastly improving as well!!

I'm going to add a rubber seal to the lids to try and keep the water out. I welded in a small piece of stainless threaded 5/16 for drains on the lowest point on each side. The insides will get etched & then hurculiner to keep it from rusting and prevent the contents from damaging the finish. Post up some pictures of yours, love to see it!

I'll be running the winch with the Warn nameplate , the Jeep one will get sold to help fund the build. Maybe I'll list it on pirate.

Oh, come on, Tedster. Just get some double stick tape, a big blue oval and cover that sucker up! ;D

Check on the oval, think I have one laying around. Randy, you let the other cat out of the bag. It's actually going to be a Ronco bumper. No winch, just a PTO powered food processor in the center. The bins are for trail slaw, cut it with the processor, throw it in the bin, add dressing and wheel it hard. When you're done so is the slaw. I know, genius right?

I see whatcha layin down. I think the smokeless record player has been done. I'm working on a new prototype toilet paper dispenser. It will allow you to put 6 rolls in real quick like a speed loader! Then it will auto dispense with a vengeance!

Hate to hijack your thread, but since you asked! I did get it mostly completed today. It's made out of 4x6x1/4 tube and the winch sits down inside the tube between the frame rails. My fairlead is 1 1/2 inches off-center but I see yours is off center some as well. Here's a few pics - along with a pic of the matching rear bumper. Not sure I will leave the light bar on it because it will likely get crunched unless I add a stinger to protect it. Also I may paint it black - not sure I like the silver!

Very nice Gary. Looks clean and I like how the receiver in incorporated into the bumper, I did the same on my rear bumper. Great work!

Ok, been a while so today I got the last of the welding & tweeking done. All the winch parts are powder coated and 50% assembled. She's etched & ready for primer & paint.
