Have you installed a molded firewall insulator?

We have found that the Dynamat does not do much for heat. We restored a '61 Desoto automobile and used Dynamat in the floor and up on the firewall thinking it was good for sound and heat. That proved not to be the case. It is great for vibration dampning (noise) but did not work well for heat. The heat radiated through the floor. Dynamat sells a product- Dynaliner. This is made more for heat insulation. We went back in with the Dynaliner and that cured the heat transfer problem. The Liner is meant to go over the Mat. Amazon has the best prices by far on these Dynamat products.
