Can I align my body panels while on the frame without the drivetrain?

May be a dumb question, but I am welding in new quarters and rockers and want to make sure I align everything as correctly as possible. If I take my body off of the cart it is on and put it onto the rolling chassis without the drivetrain, will I be able to properly line up the panels or do I need to wait until I have the weight of the drivetrain? Other than leveling down the front, I can't imagine the weight of the engine and transmission will affect the body gaps but I wanted to make sure.

Thanks,

I think you'll be able to align everything just fine. Maybe minor tweaks to get door gaps right or a shim or two in the body mounts after the drivetrain goes in.
