1967 Bronco Door swap

Hi all!

I've come to the point where I have to address my rockers/jams in order to get my doors hanging right. I happen to have cherry pair of 71 doors that came off a roadster build I did. My question is can I swap the door jams from a 71 so those doors would fit on the 67? I recall being told that 66/67 jams were slightly different and couldn't be used in any other combination. Now that I'm doing the body work, can the 71 jams go on the 67' for an easy door swapp/upgrade?

Thanks!

Not 1) having done this swap and/or 2) have the knowledge on year to year door swaps, I cannot imagine that it would be a problem. As I understand it, you’re swapping both A pillar and B pillar from a ‘71 EB so you can use doors from a ‘71 EB so it should fit. Not certain, but from memory if not faulty that everything from’69 through ‘77 A and B is the same. If I’m wrong, someone will be along that is able to correct me.

Pretty sure that's correct. You must swap at least the entire B-pillar, if not the A-pillar as well. The striker location and shape are different between the two styles, so to match the latch on the '71 door, you need a '68 and later striker post and panel.

I did this on my 67, I swapped a and b pillars. If I could go back in time I would have kept it 67 pure. In 2005 it was harder to find 66-67 door parts than it is now, I'd fix my 67 doors and fix the rust in my 67 b pillar instead of putting 68-77 doors and pillars

Great feedback. My doors are rough compared to these 71s I got, but I do have all the 67' parts. 🤔

If you have the 67 door parts, I'd recommend you sell the nice 71 doors and buy some repop'd 67 door shells and install your 67 door parts into it, but I can also understand already having your nice doors on hand and installing them. The replacement 66/67 pillars aren't much different pricewise than the later pillars.

Only reason I'm saying stick with the 67 doors is because you don't see them as often as the 68-77 doors.

Thanks folks! Probably going with what I got.
