Just heard today that SCORE is strongly considering a vintage vehicle class at future 500 and 1000 races.

They're also opening up the rules a bit on Class 3 so rear coilovers and a few other changes will be allowed.

Todd Z.

SCORE had called me about two weeks ago. They wanted my opinion on coil overs for class 3. I had just finished setting up my rear leafs two days before! Makes no difference to me either way...

They also told me head / neck restraints like Hans will be required...

Figured out my external fire extinguisher mounts. Will have one on each side when finished. Quite a bit of boring weld, grind, cut and fit, gussets, Wrap Trap crossmember, etc...Got my fuel cell enclosure from my sheet metal guy. Mocked it all up...

For extra convenience, if adding the weight either doesn't quite make it to where you want the suspension to rest, or you just want more adjustability while working, you could use ratchet straps around the axle and the frame to pull the suspension down to where you expect it to be.

Also, on the full-floater, now that all the gear lube is isolated to the center section are you just going to be packing the bearings with grease and letting them be lubed that way? I didn't see if you'd discussed that already.

Great idea on the ratchet straps! I will be packing the bearings with grease, hopefully my inner seals will do their job.

More rear shock mount mocking up, got it mostly figured out now. My Bilsteins will come in this week so I should be able to button up the rear shocks next weekend. Started mounting my fuel cell.

Yes, I just need one to use as a template / modify, so it does not need to be perfect...thanks!

Will do tasker!

Got some more done Friday and today...Rear shock mounts are all sorted, I just need to do the final welding and bracing. Same with my fuel cell mounting, all sorted except for some minor welding from underneath. Picked up my front axle from Fosilized in S. Portland. Todd set my pinion angle and caster, as well as the wedges. All tacked for now. I will install it soon to check everything and then send it back to Currie for final welding and gears / carrier.

Thanks! That Cactus Smasher is stout! Batteries may be tight for me as well...

408 Stroker kit finally came in this week...Eagle forged crank, Scat forged rods, super shiny forged pistons!

I also received word that my Stella kit and mounting bracket are on their way.

Front axle was in for mock up and track bar placement...heavy work if doing by yourself!

(Those boards are certified regulation ride height...)
