Not in a Bronco yesterday, but I found some snow. Our rescue mission started at 1pm on Saturday and I didn't get home until 6am this morning. Few friends went out on their snowmobiles Friday morning and they didn't make it out. We drove up with food and fuel, but we weren't able to make it to them. The snow was too deep and the ice on top didn't help. We didn't know what we were getting into. Other group headed up in well built Toyota's with 42's and supercharges and they couldn't make it.

My cousins new Rubicon on 40's. She has it setup really well. It was a BLAST to drive:eek:

Not mine but saw a ok shape 76' out on the ice up here during the 4x4 truck races. Also a big blocked full size. We approached the eb but the owner didn't want to talk about it. When I thought it was just apart of being a owner but anyway got some vids of the both. Looked fun. We were snowmobiling that day. just realized the crappy quality of the iphone 4s sorry. click in the vids to view them.

That big block sounded awesome! I wish we had that kind of racing around here! ;D

They were out of fuel in the trucks and snowmobiles. The Toyota's made it within 2 miles of them so they siphoned enough gas out of all the snowmobiles to get one running. They picked up the fuel from the Toyota's, but they were still stuck so they had to spend another night up there. The next day they contracted a snowcat driver to get the trucks out. $4000 bill and 3 days later they got out.

Here is a short video showing the mess they were in.

42's on the Toyota, 40's on the Chevy and I think the Tundra was stock.

I've been plowing some insane snow here in MN with the last storm dropping 14" and then having 30mph+ winds for days created one hell of a mess...

The idiot who plowed this rammed his v plow on his one ton down the driveway until he couldn't move it any further.. Of course I couldn't touch it in my pickup, so I plowed a road around it through the corn field next to the driveway :D

My brother and I spent most of Sunday pulling two trucks off the lake that went out before the storm the previous Thursday! In 2.5 days they only made it half way back to the entrance - I plowed a road through the deep snow by the shore and my brother went out in his 80's blazer on 37" Hummer tires and drug both trucks to shore, where we double pulled them off the lake. It was insane - both trucks were stock and the poor people made multiple runs into town for fuel and food.

Not overly exciting but here goes:

This was a shakedown run in my driveway a few weeks ago after having most of the drivetrain apart for several months. Pretty tough wheeling :p :

After getting exhaust put on, I took it out on a nearby run that I frequent. Snow wasn't terribly deep but it was really crusty, which made it much more difficult that what it appears:

This guy pulled up behind me while I was locking hubs in. Never met him before, but we ended up chatting for a while. I mentioned this site, maybe he will show up here one day.

Hopefully snow up higher will be thawed enough in the next few weeks to get out and play in some drifts. Snowpack is fairly heavy this year, so it might be a while yet. Will post more pics as we get out and about.

Most of you are probably done with the snow, but we still have lots up high. Here's a few pics from this weekend:

Saturday's ride: Deep drifts and side hilling turned us around just ahead of this spot:

Sunday's ride: The drift ahead is around 6 feet deep, but hard enough to crawl:

Called it a day, the grade in the background is badly drifted and has some nasty side hill action. It will probably be a few weeks before we can tackle it.

What tires are those?
They look kind of skinny.
Is that "the ticket" for snow?
Never driven in snow......actually never even seen snow in person, haha.
Central Florida doesn't see much snow, haha.

36x12.50 Radial Swampers. Air pressure is the ticket ;) Think of snow as clean mud. Tastes better too. Just steer clear of the yellow stuff ;D
