Thanks for viewing my build. About 6 years ago I ran into a 70' Bronco Sport in a guys backyard while I was working on his powerline. The bronco was piled completely full of garbage, had flat tires and looked like it hadn't been moved for years. After completing our job the owner came out to chat. Now up to this point I didn't know a thing about Early Broncos. Only because the bronco looked like it would be fun to use for hunting I asked they grey bearded fellow if he had any interest in selling it. He said well son I haven't driven it for years so I may be interested. I continued to bug the man about getting rid of it. I threw out a number $ 400 I said, the mans eyebrows raised and said well we might have a deal kid. I started to second guess myself after his quick response, shoot! maybe I should of offer him less. ( remember I knew nothing about these rigs) I asked if he could start it. Kid this thing has not been started for several years but we can sure try it. I popped the hood while he retrieved a battery. He pulled the air cleaner off and said hop in and turn it over. The grey haired old timer cigarette dangling off his lip said give it a crank while I pour in some gas in the carb. Vroom it fired right up. I was instantly in love. I ran it for maybe 2 minutes and shut it down. The old man said when you going to have it gone. He needed a day or two to move several other old vehicles before he could get this out to the street. Couple day later I showed up with a trailer to haul it off. Tires inflated and battery charged I jumped into the drivers seat with a buddy and ran it down the street. I said wow this is awesome. Then I tried to stop. Holly crap it wont stop. Frantically I pumped the brakes and it pulled hard to one way and eventually came to a stop. I looked at my buddy and said we had just better get this pig home. So $400 later I had a 1970 Ford Bronco sitting in my driveway. Unfortunately I didn't get any pic of the first day home or even very many pic early on. 6 years later and 3 broncos later (part broncos) I've begun a restoration which I'm looking very forward to building. Every bit of the work to be done will be by me, maybe except for the final paint. I've titled this build (Project Cash) after my 2 year old son named Cash. Since owning this beauty I've taken over 500 pics. At a glance some may say I have a long ways to go which is true but I will get there. Please feel free to leave feedback. I will post pics daily if I can.

I think these are the earliest pic. At this point I had already put new tires and wheel on it, found a roll bar and recovered the seats. Also put in a camo kit on the floor.

This tub was very badly rusted. This was the original tub. It needed way more work than I wanted to do. I searched for a tub on this site and Nevada Bronco delivered one to me maybe a year ago. I used the original tub for parts and pieces. The new tub was from Cali. and was sand blasted ready to go. Still needed body work but nothing like the original tub.

That's an awesome "find" story. Thought it was named Project Cash because of the amount of money that gets' spent on one of these! :)

So this is my new donor tub out of California. Media blasted was a huge plus. The front end was shifted and mangled pretty good, probably in a front end wreck. The very rear quarters needed beaten out and reshaped. You'll see some of my body work later on in the thread. The only rot in the entire tub was the front floors. What they did was cut a thin piece of metal which fit over the original floors and used a bath caulk to secure them down. Pretty funny when I seen this shit. But all in all I was very happy with the tub I bought from Nevada Bronco. I would recommend getting a hold of him if you need used parts. I was a bit overwhelmed with what I was about to tackle with this bare bones tub of steel. I didn't know where to start. I knew I wanted to rebuild the front complete from the cowl forward, also definitely had to tear the caulked floors out ASAP. I opted to restore the tail pieces.

So here are some pics of my floors. They were rusted through and the quick pix for the last owner was to caulk new sheet metal over the rusted floors. Ya pretty cool. So the great thing about this is they were very easy to remove, I just pried a screwdriver in and they came right out then cut the original floors out. While I was cutting I decided to change the side tunnel panel as well. These went very well I was pleased with Tom's replacement floors. I did both the driver and passenger side. The cross floor supports were in perfect shape, so I just epoxy primed them before I spot welded the floors down. I was at first timid about tackling these. They were easier than expected. Spot weld removal bit and a air hammer with a chisel, the old floors came right out.

The rear corners were pretty beat up some tears in the metal and I also opted to ditch the stock tire rack so needed to fill the holes. I sent hours beating on these pigs. I felt like I was going to never get that metal to move. I welded studs on and pulled, Hammered. Wow that metal on those factory corners was very rigid. I pulled most all creases and dents out then put a few coats of evercoat filler on.

The quarter panels were cut and had several holes in them from rivits and such. Also I am only going to run 1 aftermarket 23 gal. tank so only needed one filler hole. I love the look of the lubers so I also decided to change out the pass. side as well. Took my time on the prep used por15 and epoxy primer. O and the pic of me. Ear plugs, dust mask, safety glasses, face shield, Flame resistance shirt, Check on all them. Safety First!

I was fortunate enough to only have to change one door hanger bracket. I cut the inspection hole on the back side of the front door post then swapped out the old plate for a new one the welded it shut then ground it down. It turned out well.
